Use Mozilla FireFox!
Download Ad-Aware and run it.
Download SpyBot and run it.
Run Norton or Kaspersky.
Re-boot.
Come here and post whore galore!

If you have XP, try the Microsoft anti-spyware at microsoft.com , it works great and picks up a lot of what ad-aware and spybot don't. Your best bet is to run all three.

Couple good suggestions up top, i will just add my 2cc's.
www.sureshotsoftware.com has the best and easiest pop-up blocker you can get,IMO..... It's free. well they say it isn't. but i have been using it for about yr. At the end of your "trial" they will ask you if you want to continue using it for free, then give you a password. The password is BlackOrangeJuice.
Mozilla is good to use also, I don't like that idea. I am accustomed to IE so i prefer to use that all the time.
Also another thing you could do is get the trial ( yes this is just a trial they are strict) version of System Mechanic 5 Pro. They sell this at Wal-Mart, Circut City also. It will do everything and anything that you need to do to your computer. From changing the heading ( at the top of the page) to defragging... I like alot of the options it has.. Deletes Obsolete files, temp files, all at the click of a button. Very precise, and it's n00b proof...

Internet Explorer has gone to sh!t with all the popups and viruses... Go with Mozilla Firefox, you won't regret it.
