i'm new to this, so if anyone can give me remedial directions, i'd appreciate it.

i am going to attempt to download a movie from a torrent site? not sure what this really is, but it looks like i can get movies there. i'm guessing it may be slow.

anyway, after i get it downloaded to my computer, what steps do i have to take to burn it to a dvd that will play in my home dvd player. (in others words, do i need a converter program like i use for MP3 to WAV etc?)

can anyone recommend a converter (if needed) and a dvd burner program (i have adaptec cd burner right now..but not sure if that will work for a DVD). i do know i need a DVDR disc....that's about all i know.
