jason, by a mile! this guy hanted my entire childhood! there is a new one coming out, JasonX! he is futuristic in this one! lol
Michael Myers - just because he'd pop up when least expected. Jason was scary but more predictable, and Freddy was too funny to be scary. The other ones are wannabe's in my opinion.
Leather Face "dog will hunt"
Fred gave me nightmares as a child. But I respect Meyers and Jason for their cunning ability to catch up with their victim even though neither one of them ran.
The original "Halloween" scared the beejesus out of me when I was a tyke...so my vote goes to Mike Myers. But I also give props to Jason, Freddy and Pumpkin Head.
Michael Myers is the best.
Mike was not originally a "horror" killer. Halloween was labled drama when it first came out. It only developed into the "horror" genre after its second enstallment.
In the first movie-Carpentor wanted to emphasize the fear and entrigue more than the slash like Jason.
I'd have to go with Pin Head. The first time I ever saw him, I only saw a few minutes of the movie and I got the impression he was some twisted good guy. Then i watched the entire movie and realized he wasn't.
The first stab and slash movie I saw was Nightmare on Elm street so Freddy gets my vote. That and if you sleep he gets you and if you try and stay awake he ends up getting you anyway. no way to avoid him.
Freddy scared the hell out of me when it first came out, However CANDYMAN is probably the first to freak me out as an adult, if you havent seen it rent it u will look at your mirror in a whole different way, haha
Candyman is the only movie I ever really saw that was horror (I hate horror movies). And I saw it at quite a young age too. So i'm gonna have to say...Candyman, Candyman, Candyman!

CHUCKY!!!......KIDDIN' guys...
Seriously though - of the guys listed, I'd have to say Jason.... the scene that always freaked me out was when he came out of the swamp water while 2 folks were in the boat at the end of the movie... that scared the crap out of me...
I wish they'd come out with some good new ones like the classics! I absolutely LOVE horror - it's my weakness BIGTIME!

Hellraiser was the best of those movies. Good effects and twisted story line.
Sorry bigkev, go back and watch It again, I did a couple of months back and he wasn't as scary as he was when I was younger. Maybe that will help get rid of those bad memories.
Anybody wanna guess who my pick is?
FREDDY RULZ!!
They are all scary as shit if you ask me. But...after watching Candyman, if you can go into the bathroom by yourself and look in the mirror (with the door closed) and say Candyman 3 times, you are one tough, mean SOB!!!! Or you don't have an imagination at all! lol
peace,
ttgb
I don't know if this guy counts as a horror killer but Jaws scared me more than any of these guys on the list. The beach has never been the same since I saw that movie.![]()
Hands down - Pennywise and Hannibal Lechter! Lost sleep over both of those!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where is Norman Bates on the list ?
Obviously some of us have forgotten about a little known film.....known as "KILLER CLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE"!!!![]()
Oh yeah....now that is a movie that should have been on the *B-Movie thread* from last week, can't believe we all forgot about it. That is a truly classic movie !Originally posted by BigBuddha

Michael Myers is king for one reason. He is the only horror guy to scare you for the wrong reason. No, his secret isn't his big knife or his moody actions. hell, it isn't even his amazing cardio routine to move at the speed of light and yet never break a sweat or even appear to be running. No Mike is king for this reason and this reason alone, His scarey mask. Why was it scarey? Because it was a mask of Captain Kirk spray painted white. Hell, William Shattner's acting scares me and he isn't even trying to be frightening.![]()

Leprachan, munchies, critters,
anybody heard of these mean little fuckers?
Shit I almost forgot.....
The killer snowman in the movie Jack Frost (not the michael keaton one). That was a bad ass snowman!!
I have to go with th guys who voted for Mike. For months after watching Halloween, me and by siblings regressed to sleeping with the light on. I'm still getting over it!
But the scariest movie that I remember was Salem's lot. That bit when the kids are tapping at the window - terrifiying. And does anyone remember that vampire on the rocking chair!! Stephen King at his very best....
Not the scariest but remember "Tall Man" from those "Phantasm" movies? Damn, next to Mike Myers he used to give me nightmares. I was prolly scared of every person over 6 feet tall for 3 years of my life. What a great show.
Pin head was bad but I'm really having nightmares over Teletubbies lately?
have we all forgotten the Crypt Keeper?
