he is nice but not a true pit , pits are terriers and are meant to be between 30-50lbs . what we know today as pitbulls are mostly some type of bulldog mastiff cross . just some info u guys got me going about dogs .

Absolutely right on! I hate that some people have ruined pits and bred them into those stockey monsters in order to cater to the people who want "tough" looking dogs. This is what a true pit is suppose to look like, this is mine and Dally's baby.

That dog looks every bit of 100 lbs at least. What frightens me more than the way they look is how deep the bark is, you never know if they are mad or happy, cause even when they bark happy they sound pissed.

I'll take Sexykitty's dog anyday over the one I posted.

I don't agree with what they do to these dogs ..mixed breed them and train them to fight or kill other animals.

It's not the dog ,it's the freakin owner's !!!

I posted that pic cause it scared the bee wax out of me...HE'S SCARY!!!

As scary as he is ..he's is one beautiful dog tho!!!

My dog's a lover not a fighter. I didnt get her for the breeds history as a fighting dog, I got her for all the good qualities they have that people seem to forget about. It's cause of a-holes who breed mutated pits like the one on top and loser owners who want ones like that and are totally irresponsible with the way the treat their dogs that they are now banned where I'm from and i'll never be able to own another.

I agree.......... I have a female Rottie and because of a lot of azz-holes that own pitts, rotties, and any breed of that type and train them to be aggressive give these dogs a bad name. After people are done being scared of the size of my dog they then find out she's a great dog and she wouldn't hurt anyone without reason.

I wouldn't want a dog aggressive like that anyway. Too much liability and also you never know if the dog may turn on you.

i think the're both good looking dogs.. the big one is scary as hell, and your female is cute, but knowing how dogs are the big one might be real friendly and yours could be a biter.. pits are aggresive.. people can never tell.. just cuz he's huge doesn't mean he'll bite..

anyway i didn't mean anything against your dog by what i said.. i have a little girl minature pinscher and i think she's great, and i wouldn't mind getting a big strong dog when i have a house with a yard.

You're right about not being able to tell temperment by looks. My only point about the dog posted is that it is not a classic looking pit. Over the past few years, some breeders have been selectively breeding for stockiness, wide shoulders, blockheads and size in order to attract the kind of owners that are looking for tough looking dogs. Because of that, it has resulted in these montsers and some mutated looking dogs that are not the way pits were intended to look like, they look like a totally diff. breed. I'm not implying that dog is mean, who knows if it is, I just would never fight me dog, thats not why I have her. The aggresive thing is a whole other issue that I wont get into. Just remember not all pits are aggresive, and there is a difference bw dog-dog aggresion and dog-human aggression
