Please donate to the Red Cross even 10$... everyone on the board can afford that....
Suck it up and donate to them.
If you work for a large company, check with your company before you donate. They will probably match your donation. I know everyone here has a few extra bucks to donate. I know based on some of my earlier threads you might think I don't care, but you are wrong. I really do care, I think a lot of injury and death may have been avoided if people had listened to the warnings. Bottom line now is they need our help.

Victims of Hurricane Katrina are attempting to recover from the massive storm that is still making its way across the Mid-Atlantic States. American Red Cross volunteers have been deployed to the hardest hit areas of Katrina’s destruction, supplying hundreds of thousands victims left homeless with critical necessities.
By making a financial gift to Hurricane 2005 Relief, the Red Cross can provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need

I live in Baton Rouge, and there are people sleeping in the Mall of Louisiana. Strait Ghetto. Some people have lost all their belongings and have no money to buy new clothes, and no longer have a job or house for that matter. EVERYONE needs to pitch in for this.

The redcross is a great organization but the money you donate to them *may* not go directly to the Katrina cause remember that (They took shit for that during 9/11, much of what was donated to the fire fighters fund was spread for other causes). Also, check out thier finanacial statements...

I just bought a ticket to a fundraiser in Orlando. Velvet Revolver is playing a show at the Hard Rock Live with all proceeds going to the red cross. It's pretty good of them dudes to do this and I've been waiting to see them live for a long time. Should be cool.

Jdawg...how come you get so much love for asking people to donate money to Katrina, yet I get flamed for starting a thread to spread awareness of the US's unwillingness to accept possibly millions of dollars in aid from another country...if people petition for this cause and make it happen, Katrina victims would receive much more money than they would from several thousand Red Cross donations

guys, donate to the firefighters holding the boots this weekend
the fund actually goes to children with muscular dystrophy, however the founder has agreed to donate 1,000,000 dollars to the katrina relief as well as give 24hrs of air time for celebs to raise money as well
its a double cause. ive held the boot 8hrs today and will be all this weekend, believe me guys, every penny helps. last year we counted over 1000 dollars in pennies alone..this is from only 1 small dept < 20,000 city pop

My car club had it's monthly meeting Friday and we gave our dues up to the red cross. Funny, I was behind, caught up, and it all went to the charity. Any way, it ended up being $61. Not bad for like the 8 people in attendence.
