Deadlifts,deadlifts,deadlifts,deadlifts,deadlifts,
WOW!!
About 3 years ago I satrted doing Dead Lifts, for about 6 months straight I went from 225x4 reps to 380x4.. never have I gained so damn much just from one excercise.. Sadly when I stopped working out for some personal stuff I went right back into and hurt myself.. so its been about 2 1/2 years or close to it since I dead lifted.. I did them yesterday for the first time..
135x8
135x8
1358x
225x6
225x4
I am going nuts on how good I feel right now..
Anyway I guess this is just a plug for this awesome excerise..

Dead's are the shit; overhand grip, no straps for me....
Great back/trap/grip/etc.. development!

From what I remember reading, NOT wearing a belt could actually be safer for you, and increases strength..
When people wear a belt they usually try to go heavier and "FEEL" like they can do more than they really can.. Plus not wearing a belt is supposed to increase you're ________ Muscles ( I forget what they are, maybe you're balancing muscles ) some thing like that..

No belt, straps or gloves. Just pure intensity.

I usually have to use straps on anything over 405. I only go overhand grip 405 and up because I know how easy it can be to tear a bicep with the over/under grip w/ heavy deads. If some of you guys can deadlift in a rep scheme of 6-8 w/ 4 and 500 lbs then you have awesome grip strength and I'm jealous.

A belt actually makes me feel like I am being restricted in movement and i cant lift as much. SS..you do overhand grip with 405??

my grip is fine now i use a standard over/under and 475..is that not normal?

I strap my deads because I get in MUCH better reps when I strap up. I usually throw on the straps starting around 315. I know this minimizes my forearm development that I would get from deads, but it IMPROVES the back workout I get. FYI, I train my forearms twice a week, so I'm not really losing anything.

Deadlifts are awesome.... I definately feel like they take the most out of me after a set. I usually see stars after doing a good set. It's also the exercise that I can progress the fastest in; when I started I was pulling 115x8.... a couple of months later 315x8. No wraps, just gloves. My grip starts slipping at that weight though.
Too bad I have something wrong with the discs in my back; it's kept me from progressing much further with deads.

Let's talk about squats now
Anyone like to do
1 set of 20 rep squats???
Supposed to increase strength ever better than a normal 4 set routine..
I used to do them, hard as hell!
