Looking buff johan...
thanks bro![]()
I see we have 6 retards that voted. I don't think it's racist unless you get it for the intention of racism...
It's a flag.. big woop...
Nobody likes you cause your white anyways lol.. So what's newjk jk
You can get it, but only if it's okay with your mother!
Trust me, its racist in Detroit. PPL here definitely don't know what the difference between racism and southern pride is. The fact that you're even questioning whether or not to get it, means you're not from Detroit, you live outside of it, which is cool, just like I do also. But that flag definitely wouldn't fly in detroit and thats obvious, you would just be causing your self trouble, whether it is unjustified or not.Originally Posted by SnaX
BTW, Schools here teach you all the way through that the civil war was about and only about slavery. One of my friends from the south told me they teach it down there as it being over states rights.
At the restaurant i work at, there is a huge confederate flag on the wall and nobody seems to mind.. of course.. I'm in kalifornien so it must be different...
The flag has been co-opted by many racist groups, including the KKK. It has been ASSIGNED racist meaning. It was originally a patriotic symbol, like any other nation's flag. I don't think of the Confederate Battle Flag as being a symbol of racism, myself, but there are others, Black and White, who do. Understand that such a tattoo will elicit controversy, whatever you may think of it yourself.
I saw an interesting piece in the Times-Picayune (The New Orleans daily) about a factory where more Confederate Battle Flags (The Stars and Bars are the Battle Flag, not the actual flag of the Confederacy) are made than anywhere else in the world. All the employees are of (Guess) what race? Those interviewed didn't feel no way about the flag... they just sewed them up and got paid every Friday and didn't make a big deal about it. I am sure those particular Black flagmakers would appreciate more people displaying the flag, being that it is their product and makes their living. Of course, they get nothing from your tattoo...
Do what you like, just be prepared for the controversy and remember that it will be a booger to remove or cover up, so consider putting it somewhere that your clothes could either cover or reveal, at your discretion, according to the circumstances.

It's a racist flag, but many feel otherwise.
The people who "ok" this flag are just turning a blind hand to the fact that there was ever slavery.
Many people use this flag as a symbol of white power, I hate to add...
I know some people are offened when this is said, but it is the truth, and there are reasons that groups like the KKK use this flag.
It's not my fault. I didn't have anything to do with it. I was born in 1978 and live in Canada... I had nothing to do with anyone that used this flag as a racist tool, so don't flame me.

No flame here, Juicy Dear, but be aware that slavery existed under the Stars and Stripes for almost 90 years. Slavery existed under the Stars and Bars for four years. The United States has a much longer and more nefarious record of enslaving humans than the Confederacy. This of course does not excuse the Confederacy for a horrendous crime, but be aware also that slavery was abolished in the "rebellious states" before it was abolished in the slave-holding states that remained in the Union. The true symbol of slavery and racism is the one with the longest history and that represents the lowest form of hypocrisy... the flag of the United States.Originally Posted by juicy_brucy

I believe blacks in America were slaves from around 1619 to about 1865. During this time people had mixed emotions on slavery. Hell, at first slaves were only indentured servants which could earn their freedom! Greed and racism quickly took care of that.Originally Posted by Anna Bollick
No matter what you say slavery was a major reason, many say THE reason, for the Civil War. The southern states were for slavery, the northern states (with a couple exceptions like Missouri, I believe) against. The symbol of the southern states was the good ol' Stars and Bars, and this symbol is still used by certain racists to represent their racist ideals.
The US flag might have a longer history of slavery, however it was not created for the preservation of racist ideals.
my great great grandpa fought for the confederacy, its not hate at all. they were fighting for there way of life, not to because of racism
