I know what you mean by liking to have structure and a place to settle. Im in college so I obviously dont know what traveling, starting your own company etc is like. One of my friends started his own home theater company, pretty successful, but he doesn't travel for it. I would get so pissed off if I couldnt train and eat how I want

I want to smash stuff at times, it frustrates the hell out of me! But, in the long run, I can hopefully make up for lost time...

We should trade lives Justin. I have wayyy too much free time on my hands and would love to be in your shoes. I have a feeling that the worse part for you is probably not being able to see your girl, and she probably nags about it. I suggest you stay focused and keep making financial moves to better your future. You'll have time to train later. but also when you travel dont the hotels have gyms in them? if not pushups and situps all day long baby. good luck to u.

You will. It will feel good once you get settled and get your business off and running. I cant imagine how you feel with missing workouts/meals. When I miss a workout one day..I bitch and take it out on everyone else.

I feel like a flabby little boy with man boobs, and a skinny bitch all at the same time.

I thought I was the only one that felt fat and yet a bean pole at the same time People think that sounds dumb, but it makes sense to a body builder.

I have been a road warrior for far too many years. I have been one of American's Top 10 travelers 3 different years. It can take its toll if you do not adjust. It does take some adjustment and learning how you can eat on the road and train. However, if capital in your new venture is sparse and you are cutting corners on costs, you might find it a bit difficult.

Perservere my friend. There are times when a bit of investment in your career/business can result in huge rewards that will allow you the freedom you desire.

Hey buddy. I'm on business travel all week so I have a hectic schedule too. Even with this schedule, I still manage to belong to 3 gyms. My diet kind of sucks right now because I live out of hotels, but I always bring my protein powder, creatine, multi plus vitamin c, caffeine, and ephedrine. I'm not currently on a cycle but about to start one in a few weeks so add that to the list. I drive 5 hours every Monday to work then back home on Friday. No matter what I do and how busy I am I still manage to set aside some time for the gym because it's what I love to do. There's been 2 blizzards up this way this week and I was about the only idiot driving just so I could get my workout in. So my advice to you is no matter how busy you are everyone gets 24 hours in a day so if you like doing it you will find time for it.

very true! unfortunately the workload is taking a lot out of me... but, you're right, if I want it bad enough, I should get my ass in the gym!

The key to a great physique...

    Justin,

I know exactly how you feel. I started my own firm this year, and it's taking all my time, energy, and money to get it started. You don't realize just how easy it was earning a paycheck until you start your own business: direct deposit every Friday, you show up at nine A.M. and leave at five o'clock, four weeks paid vacation, holidays off, no book-keeping, bill paying, client development...

A wise old lifter at my gym once said; "The key to a great physique... is unemployment!"

Look around at the guys who are jacked-up to the edge of insanity; they're probably either personal trainers who's body IS their profession, or chronically under-employed, beautiful-losers who spend all their time in the gym, weigh every ounce of their ten daily meals, get nine hours of sleep per night, have little or NO STRESS whatsoever, yada-yada-yada...

To live their "perfect" bodybuilder life, while avoiding any semblence of work, some of them have to make some pretty shady concessions to their honor and integrity. Why are so many of them low-end, scamming steroid dealers? They've got great bodies... that they use to make money as dancers in gay clubs or by being escorts or kept-boys. What do you think all that 'sponsorship' shitte is about? It's the elephant no-one talks about in the bodybuilding living room. Even the big names in bodybuilding are "sponsored" by creepy old guys with money who want to "participate in the bodybuilding lifestyle". (YAH!)

Not to bash on the average muscle-head, I'd love to look like most of them, too. It's just that, at the end of the day, a hardworking guy like you is gonna have built up a business that provides you and your family with a constant stream of income, a secure future, and you'll have the time and leisure to devote to, not only your body, but all the other things that make up a well-rounded life. What's more, you'll still have your integrity intact.

Great bodies are about as rare as air molecules, my God! Guys (and gals) who are successful, honest, hard-working professionals, devoted spouses, loving parents, well-read and informed... who also take care of their bodies and make themselves look as good as possible... well, they're RARE... and thus valuable. Like diamonds.

Good luck. You'll never regret striving to be more than you were.

I thought it would be exciting to be all over the place, doing business in Canada and the States... BUT, I have come to the conclusion that this lifestyle is rather difficult to live. My training has reached an all time low, my eating habits are garbage, I feel like a flabby little boy with man boobs, and a skinny bitch all at the same time. This week alone I am travelling to Florida for 4 days, then back to California for a week... come home for Christmas, back to California, over to New York, and end off in Miami again (I'm not complaning, this WAS fun at one point... just getting old). It sounds fun and exciting, but damnit, it's making me lethargic and give up on what I love most, training. I know this time is temporary (at least I've been saying that for a year and a half now), but I am getting fed up. I just want to have some sort of permanent residence, the ability to see my girlfriend when I want, and food that can be made on a dayme stove!!! Has anyone else experienced this type of lifestyle, and if so, what are some of your key tips to stay in shape?
staying in shape should always be a priority but when i comes to a situation like you're in its perfectly ok to put working out on the back burner. you're young, motivated and headin in a good direction. hell, i live in 3 states. i know what you're talkin about. you'll get settled. patience is the key. also it is definitly ok to let yourself go once in a while. not only for sanity reasons but to give your body a break. you'll be fine.

I have had to live that type of lifestyle at different points in my career...does turn into a physique-killer at times...has kept me out of what I love most for far too long.
