There was a shark attack just off Sydey yesterday I think. The girl was killed by like 3 bull sharks.

i have never even seen the snow, we live about 6 hours away from it and just never got around to organising a trip down there but i want to try snowboarding it looks fun.
yeah i saw that shark attack on the news that was pretty bad, there has been a few shark attacks recently around sydney area, i allways surf with alot of people and at a patroled beach most of the time yeah i hate sharks but theres not much i can do about it.
sydney has alot of great beaches to surf at, yeah ive heard of thestles before, i actually was in cali last year on holidays i was with the family and didnt even get to stop off at a beach we went to disneyland and universal and done all the tourist stuff, i am lookin to go back over there i love it.
my board is fast as hell measures 6'3"x18'3/8"x2'1/4" single to double concave bottom.

I surfed christmas day! It was about chest to head high! water is getting cold.
My 3-2 wont cut it anymore, so 6-5-4 and boots and gloves.
the worst about surfing in the winter in jersey is the cold water hits your face and its like downing ice cream that wicked iceheadache, but the winter is the only time we get really awesome surf.
well this past summer wasnt bad..

like my name says.. YES, I love surfing!
I live in spain at the mediterranean sea, so your board would be absolutley needlesshere it's more longboarding
the atlantic is a 2 hours away, so I try to get there as often as possible, but only a few time in winter it's getting bigger than 3m.

I'm moving to San Diego and I'm going to try to pick it up again. I tried to get into it a while ago but hated that some days there were no waves. I got into motocross then cause I could go riding anytime, didn't need to wait for nice conditions.
Anyone have any suggestions for a good beginner board?

Surfing is the hardest sport out there. You can surf everyday for a year and still suck. I live on the beach and I make it out a few times a month. I just like taking a gaint board out watching the hacks that thing they are good. It's all good if you suck and you know it but please don't try to act tuff on a 12'er and a 3 foot wave.

Cold!? Thats why you should move to hawaii! I was there for some years... Loved it!! Went out pretty muc 4-6 times a week. I do prefer bodyboarding to surfing though. Though sometimes I would "surf" my bodyboard... I just had more fun, and it was easier getting out with fins.

I've been surfing for about 17 years... I live a few blocks from the beach... wouldn't have it any other way!!! Looking to get a new board this year for what will surely be another quality hurricane season here in FL.
