download limewire than do a search for limewire pro on limewire. It's the version you pay for, but you can get it free. This gives you better downloads without all the scratches.

Go to www.allofmp3.com
It's the most legit thing you can use without being illegal. Whole albums for about a buck fifty each on average. CD Quality recordings. RIAA has tried in vain to shut them down but the Russian Government thus far has deemed them legal.
Too many people getting sued for my taste to try using any of the P2P stuff.

Yeah I know. I'm too much of a computer geek/ conspiracy theorist. I dont mind paying a fair price for music. A buck and a half for a whole album is a small price to pay for my piece of mind. To each his own though. Greedy RIAA bastards. LoL

iTunes isn't bad at .99 cents a song.

I didn't mean to imply it's bad. If you look at the quality it's about half CD quality and you have limits on what you do with the track.
With a service like AllofMP3 you pay about a tenth of that per song, get CD quality, and have no limits on what you can do with the music.
When I cant find something on AllofMP3 I check iTunes and buy if they have it.
Now if only Apple can get their video iPod more inline with Archos's record feature they'd have me hooked.

Am using Ares right now. Downloaded 116 of my favourite songs already, for free. Excellent quality on 98% of songs.
