question about getting an STD

Ok, my GF and I are planning to get tested together.. It was my idea.. I know I been fairly safe and screen my partners fairly well.. But my GF has had unprotected a few more times than i did, and the thing is that a couple of her partners had really been around.. Funny thing about going the idea I had bout getting tested is that it backfired on my because when I told her I didnt know they have to go inside my dick with a Q tip, I just thought it was a simple blood sample. Now I cant say, oh hun, why dont u go, i dont wanna go.. Well we did have unprotected sex 1 time, we didnt get a chance to get tested yet.. What are the odds(if she has something) that I would get it only 1 time screwing her? Are STDs passed that easily that I would most likey get it from 1 time? Are some passed easyier than others? My ex sort of got around when she went to college (I recently found this out) and I've had sex with her since she got back (before I found out, of course)..Also had sex unprotected with a few girls that got around a bit. I'm always really worried, I know I'm stupid. Do they do this tests at college clinics??

I wouldn’t risk my life. You can go for the urine test if you don’t like the Q tip. By the way, almost all the STDs can be detected by either blood or Q tip/urine test. The most common tests are:

* Chlamydia/Gonorrhea - This can be done on samples from inside the vagina in females and on a sample from inside the tip of the penis OR on urine samples on males. Most males prefer to collect a urine sample. Our test can detect chlamydia approximately 30 hours after infection and gonorrhea (GC) 48 hours after infection.

* HIV - Blood test. The test can detect HIV infection in most people anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months after infection.

Some have no clear symptoms while others do...

1 in 10 girls in the UK has gonorrhea, just imagine how many have an STD in general. Probably 1 in 4 or 5...
