I am ditching safe-mail.net due to my previous post.
I may decide on cyber-rights.net
Any others you may suggest?

Sorry to hijack but waht's wrong with hotmail or yahoo? I use hotmail to communicate with my supplier. Should I not be using them? All my personal details on my hotmail account are totally made up....

I’m no computer expert but I believe email providers like yahoo, hotmail, etc log your IP address in the header. Even with a fake name if push comes to shove it would be quite easy to positively id you via IP address. These organizations have been known to openly cooperate with law enforcement and may have a clause in the user agreement pertaining to illegal activities and your right of privacy.Sorry to hijack but waht's wrong with hotmail or yahoo?
IMO, don’t make yourself such an easy target and find an email provider that offers secure, encrypted email for free. (like Hushmail and I believe cyber rights) For an added measure of security, or if sending to someone that doesn’t have the same provider, (only hush to hush emails can be encrypted by the hush provided encryption service) use an auxiliary encryption program such as PGP or coolfish.

Don't mean to be argumentative bro but hushmail has a similar clause:
"As a condition of your use of the Service, you affirm to Hush, that you will not use the Service for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms, conditions, and notices."
So Hushmail may bend over backwards for law enforcement just as much as hotmail or yahoo....

You are correct; all of the ISP’s are going to cover their ass with some kind of clause and will comply with the law. What I was getting at is that Yahoo and MSN have been known to openly work hand and hand with the Law. Yahoo has been commended for being one of few ISP’s that are taking a strong pro-active stance against illegal activity. With so much at stake these massive corporations aren’t going to play games when it comes to people using their free services for illegal activities. IMO, they are going to do everything they can to help out the law.So Hushmail may bend over backwards for law enforcement just as much as hotmail or yahoo....
On the other hand Hushmail is a company that specializes in providing secure email. I would think that such a company isn’t going to be as helpful giving up information without the courts being involved, but that is only my opinion. According to Hushmail they will comply with a subpoena, however, the only thing they could provide would be the encrypted emails for a given addy. They claim not to log IP’s in a way that could connect the user to an account so the Law is going to have to do some real work to bust your ass.
update, just wanted to see what everyone was using now a days.
hush for sure!
I use hushmail, like the setup.
hush fo sho.
....
Hushmail!
