Computer conencting issue i know wrong forum
My home computer thinks it belongs to a network.. i guess the networking card did something when i conencted my mp3 player.. god knows..
It keeps grabbing ip address assigned to a network from the server and the service i use says theres nothing they can do.
I do have a router .. do u think this will solve the problem and if so is there anything special i gotta do
Thank you

So the only thing you did different was connect an MP3 player ? Have you tried rebooting the machine ? I would also power reset your cable / dsl modem and your router as well. Also what problems is this causing, you posted this message so I assume you can still connect

You want to post up the messages its giving when you can. Also Click on Start the Run then type in cmd into the command line you get. You will then get a black screen, type in ipconfig/all and give us the results of that output

Well if its been working before something has changed and you may just be complicating the problem by adding a router. Is it a Linksys router ?

I guess i figured by adding a router i might just be making the whole thing easier because the computer thinks it belonngs to a netowkr i might as well make it one..
I was given the computer, so it might of belonged to a network prior to my ownership, therfore it could of reverted back to it's orginal cooridnates.

You might have more luck if you post the question in the Computer/Security Discussion Forum there are a few guru's there
