I read an article where he said that it was caused by a hereditary(sp?) disease, and eating too much protien and tomatoes. Protien and tomatoes?!?!?! I dont think so Flex.

i think maybe from massive steroid abuse over a very long period of time...

i read an article by Tom Prince and he was saying how important it is to get bloodwork done if you are to use steroids, because he never did and it caught up to him

not sure about flexs, i read also it was a family history thing.. TPs was from severe dieuretic abuse

  11. #11
I think it was a combination of fam history and excessive diuretic use. Maybe I'm wrong who knows. Sure they gear like hell but they abuse the shit outta diuetics too.

He trains locally out of Terry's Fitness here in California, it's like 15 mins from my house and I go there at times. I saw him months back......

He is not a "normal sized" man. He's not as big as he was, but he still has
his bulbuous shapes and shit like that. He does have very good genetics.

Just as Kevin Levrone now sports a more "Hollywood" look now, Flex is much the same, but not that small.....somewhat bigger than Kevin.

Tom princes kidney problem was caused by all the ibuprofin he was taking.

not sure, but the man said himself in an interview that it was his steroid abuse that caught up to him and he wasn't getting bloodwork done...so he couldnt catch it before it was too late

Interesting. Didn't know he was a fighter, either.

All these pics that are shown from before are of them in Comp. shape. Take an offseason pic of them or any that aren't from a photoshoot and compare it. I have trouble holding the weight I have while off, can you imagine holding 250-300lbs without any gear? None of us could do it. The guy still looks like he is in great shape, props to him. There has to be a point where you just don't want to live the lifestyle 100% and eat every hour.

i wouldn't want to live that lifestyle one day of my life, to many consequences at that level, and kidney transplant is just the start of the problems he may have

Yep, just funny how ppl freak so bad when these guys decide to return to reality and get their health in check. You can't stay that size forever and be healthy.

He estimates he's at 230lbs at 5% bodyfat right now; that's a lot heavier than "normal" size. I can see the 230lbs in those pics but I would estimate a tad higher than 5%... still in the single digits but higher

normal size? The dude is still a lot bigger than me and a lot of other ppl on this board. Sure, not even close to what he was but still pretty damn big.
