80's (vs. todays Mass Monsters): Which do you like?

I prefer the aesthetic of the 80's guys over todays mass monsters. Lee Haney looked awesome at 245, with those broad shoulders, the tiny, petite waist and that thick back. Bob Paris was beautiful. You talk about classic lines, Bob all the way. Then there was Gaspari's conditioning. Wow. First guy with glute striations. I would rather look like those 80's guys then what you see nowadays. What do you think? Beauty over beast or beast over beauty?

I go with the classic look/lines more for sure. As much as I love Jay Cutler I would rather look like Flex or Dexter, the extended gut of Ronnie just doesnt sit right with me when I think about "bodybuilding" I would hate to have that.

I'm with you Mike. Look at guys like Arnold, Frank Zane, Sergio Oliva, Franco Columbu, etc. They have a large, aesthetic look to them that is impressive yet proportional to their frame.

Ronnie Coleman and the like just look like juiced up apes. Their backs are disgustingly wide compared to their waists, their legs look like distended hourglasses, they have veins on top of veins that shouldn't even exist, etc. As impressive as the size is, it's just seems like such an overkill iof the beautiful, aesthetic shape of the human body.

    Just my 2c's.

Some of todays mass monsters actually look good imo( victor martinez, lee priest, gastavo badell) but ronnie, dorian yates, were just big and sick looking. back in the year before lee haney almost every bb was appe****g and not freaky looking.
