M&F Magazine Hypocrisy! can't stand this...

    hey all,

i was reading thru last December's M&F magazine and came upon an article which i couldn't believe, because it was just so rediculous!

They have this section called "Train like a pro" workout where they suggest training Monday-Friday, with both am AND pm workouts except on Wednesday. Then, they suggest training for 1 and a half hours each session...... with 5-8 exercises.......and they say you can "look like a pro" if you do this workout routine

The magazine doesn't point out that, a) ANYONE who is not juiced would be SEVERELY OVERTRAINING themselves, b) a NATURAL trainee cannot do any where near that level of volume and sets, with maximal intensity for that long, and of course they won't mention that even if you ARE on drugs, a level of volume that extreme is not necessary to make excellent gains.. Just look at Dorian Yates....Oh, and they don't tell you either that the severe overtraining can give you a few nasty injuries.

Well, it's just this nonsense that has caused me to not renew my M&F magazine subscription..... Do we not forget that muscles grow at rest and not in the gym for 9-10 sessions per week?

Might as well live at the gym then, you'll be there all day.

yeah....i find it amazing how Dorian spent about 1/5 as much time in the gym than Arnold......yet he was just as developed, if not more in some ways i think...

i find it hard to believe personally some of the nonsense M&F spills out......this article though seems to take the cake though.

even if some lucky person didn't, there'd still be no need in training that much.....when i train too frequently i feel weak and unmotivated, and end up getting smaller at the end of the day.

Thats way too much for the natural lifter job or not

my bench has gone up 140lbs since january of 2005.....and i used to only work my chest once every 10-11 days (with very high volume) though now i do it every 8 days, slightly less volume however...

granted it was not a natural feat, but my training is not too frequent...and used to be even more infrequent than it is now (though i am enjoying my new split more than my old one)

I preffer 1 on 1 off. so I work on 8 day weeks. so If I say I'm on week 7, I'm actually a little farther along since my training weeks are 8 days long.

Very true, I get mad each time I look at Ronnie Coleman in BSN ads. It's like, NO-XPLODE gives me pumps which make me look huge all day!

Ummm bud, did you forget to mention the thousands you use on gear? Also what about genetics?

Muscle and Fiction is a horrible magizine if your looking for workout tips and routines.... the ONLY good thing about it, is the occasional pro updates and supplements studies
