Why buy a mag when all the information you ever need is here?. Seriously, I'm not bullshitting because it beats the crap out of me.

I'm also involved in Martial arts and wouldn't dream of buying a mag for that either.

The only two I put my money into are Ironman and Muscular Development. Ironman is starting to get to be my favorite again... as MD is picking up Weider tendencies to generate cash flow...

Find books by credible authors and coaches... mags can keep you up on some the latest abstracts, nice Q&A's, news from the pros... but don't look for any real unbiased hardcore training theories and explanations from a newstand publication...

Yeah - pics and interviews of the pros, latest abtracts, articles by industry experts... AR is just another avenue to learn. The most well-rounded members here learn from all sorts of mediums and personal experience...

When you keep educating yourself with everything (publications and online conversations) you can get a better grasp of the concepts. Also, if you limit your learning to online conversations you are setting yourself up for the Internet gospels that sometimes go around (unfounded and untrue rumors). Sometimes I like to know for sure who is trying to pass me info - reading books and other publications by proven authors are one way.

There are A LOT of benefits to learning from a message board - but don't forget all the research that has gone into books - and many of those authors participate in the magazine pubs...
