    They most definitely do.

I see no use for them in ones workout regimen unless they are maxing out. The core is somewhat the anchor of your body, If you rely on constant support (belt) to do your core work then you're taking steps in the wrong direction. Not saying they are a waste, just not needed daily.......

    For deadlifts-never.

Squats..I'll put the belt on at either 385 or 405 usually..

Yes, only on heavy work sets though.
I was doing Swole Cats leg thing and this dude told me I should be wearing a belt. I was like Why? It's light weight. That was my last set and I got 15 reps out.

    actually no its not

most people that wear them, wear them wrong and crank it on

in fact, it should be lose

the point of it is for you to have to tighen and extend your abdomen fully

when you push out and tighten up, then the belt gets tight

thats the whole point of wearing it, not to sit there and crank it on as tight as you can

yet you see people all the time wearing it cranking it on for every set they do

if anything, save it for max lifts only...that means you should only have it on for like 1 or 2 sets maybe 1 or 2 times a week

i never wear one though, but i dont compete. if i did i would.

Well sure, you push your stomach out against it, but what good does it serve if it is loose? Doesn't really seem to be supportive anymore, seems like it almost loses purpose.

no you push your stomach out you have to use your ab muscles and make them tight

that is the point, to have your core tight and supportive you dont have it so lose it falls of your ass or anything, but when your relaxed it should be loser than a pair of shorts or whatever..or so you can slip your fist in about

tightening it down doesnt do much you dont have to be tight with it, youd otn have to tighten your core at all, just be sloppy and wear a belt..thats just external...you need internal support, thats wear the injury can come from

Okay, I see what you are saying now. A lot of people would be surprised how much easier a squat would be if they tightened their abs.

When the lifts get heavy and I have to use a belt, when I pushed my abs against the belt, it made the lift much easier.

i never wear a belt the only time i would even consider wearing one would be doing an excersize that might need you to lift heavy weights away from the core of the body perhaps heavy bicep curls where the weight in front is pulling on your back and maybe for heavy military press for stability but for deads wtf? whats the point in restricting blood flow and movement of a muscle you are trying to pinpoint, its like these idiots that wear bandages and shit on there elbows for support, pussies, they will do more harm than good imho ,if you cant do the weight properly dont do it at all! so no i dont use belts.

Herna's push out because of tight belts, puts more pressure, my boy got one from wearing his too tight.
