I don't think racist is right. But I think everyone is prejudice, including my self obviously, and including all blacks too. If all parties to a discussion like that won't admit that before the discussion begins it is tough to avoid it getting pretty damn riled up.

I learned a lot from that thread. You had some awesome ideas and contributed a lot, but so did the black dude.

There was another forum around that used to allow blatantly racist discussions. So everyone used to post some grossly overstated opinions just to make a point. And all the follow on posts were just as blatant. It was totally "Politically incorrect", and everyone had a good laugh at themselves and at everyone else too. All the typical racial slurs and caricatures were blatantly right out there....It was hilarious. Wish they never clamped it. It was some of the coolest most useful, pretty damn intelligent humor I have read in years.

Thanks. And I do agree that Wrath and Script contributed alot too. But I honestly feel I was discriminated against because I'm white. However that said, Wrath gave me some food for thought when he said that I was insensitive to black people's issues. That just might be true. but I wasn't being listened to either.

Anyway thats for the other thread, which is open again after a cooling off period for everyone.

So there ya go, thats where I'm coming from. If I'm insensitive to people I can moderate that and think twice before posting something again. I know in my heart and soul I'm not a racist. But I'd like to hear peoples honest opinion on how I'm seen by them.

I was kinda kidding when I said "Show yourself" but I do think that when you've had the balls to lay yourself wide open like this that it's a shame that people cannot justify/stand by what they voted.

As regards worrying about what others think of me. I'm not worried, but because I'm a Moderator how I'm viewed by the members reflects on the board.

Four people (so far) seeing me as a racist isn't a big deal, I can live with that.

Honestly, not wanting to come over as a racist, but i think only minorities can truly 'indentify' with said issues.

True, we're the same (or i'd concede: the genetic make-up varies inconsequently from ethinicity to ethnicity).. still, through how we were socialised (raised etc.), our outlooks differ.

Our experiences differ.. and our perceptions of said experiences differ.

That being said do you personally make a conscious effort to be 'sensitive to black (/minority) issues'?

Nark I truely think I am, yes. I think in the other thread people purposely took offence. What I will do is think twice before saying or posting anything about black people because I know now that some are only too quick to jump on the race card and brand me a racist.

I'll tell you some of my background. My father is very racist, when I was a teen I was a skinhead and wore neo-Nazi paraphania (sp'ing?). And I still have a Swastika tattoo on my left wrist. Its almost faded so you can't see it anymore, infact I could go around in Israel in comfort knowing it could hardly be seen. I'm 40 yrs old now and that was over 20yrs ago.

I'm a completely different man now.

Thanks for this. I voted "insensitive to black issues" even though that isn't exactly what I think. I think you are just a little extreme in the WAY you present you views on a subject, and incredibly blunt. That is why I asked you to ease up in the other thread. You can say whatever the hell you want to say, it would just be nice if you were a little more considerate to the views/feelings/whatever of other people.

I admit some of the things you say take me by surprise. If you remember that first thread when I called you a racist I was shocked that you could say the things you did and still say you weren't racist! After you took the time to actually explain your views over PMs I had a totally different impression of you and I apologized for calling you a racist. I wish you would remember those kind of discussions and fully express your views so you don't come off as something that you are not.

That explains why you are fighting so hard to separate yourself from racism now! My grandfather had his automotive customization shop taken from him by some sort of racists a LONG time ago and to this day he hates white people. My dad was never racist and had to really separate himself from his father's ideals. It was hard as he had to deal with a lot of racism growing up in the midwest. Luckily I didn't have to deal with a racist father because I know it can be hard to break free of thoughts that were placed into you when you were a child.
