    home gym costs

im not inquiring about this for the immediate future, but my dream would be to have a full functional gym in the basement of my house. i have some money invested and would consider building one of these withing the next decade
any of you guys have everything you need to workout every body part in your own home?
any one know what kind of a ball park price this would be?

maybe not bowflex.. but u want some cable type machine like it, for flexibilty.. squat rack.. bench n free weights..

Home gyms are the best.. I can sit here on the internet replying to posts between sets until my egg timer program goes off LOL..

    than do another set..
no driving and paying gym membership

take the shower right after, and 2min later i'm fryin up steak.

thats what im talking about bro, thats what i want

i'd be willing to invest 15 g's or so, but i want EVERYTHING i normally use, i dont see the point in giving up the use of certain equipment for the luxury of staying at home

plus it may not all pay off in the end, but quite a bit of it would, currently i've spent ~ $1200 on gym memberships

Take a look at these guys. The quality seems good and prices are less than most commercial shops. If you are looking to build a serious home gym, than 15K will probably be on the low side.
I'm looking at their cross cable pro station. They will custom size it to your specs for $1500. or so with 220 stacks. Good price. Their individual stations are reasonably priced.

I bought a leg extension/curl combi machine from Gym Source and paid $2700 and these guys have a similar machine for $1500. I regret not finding them sooner. Stay in touch , I may have received something from them and I will give you an update before you begin to put something together.

If you really want to go for broke - this is some of the best equipment I've used.....Gym80

Don't know about pricing - just giving an option.

My wife & I just moved into our new home in January. She allowed me to have 1 room in the basement to do whatever I wanted...of course it was a home gym. I have more stuff in that room than the local gym. Smith machine, lat stack, cable cross-over, power rack, calf machine, dumbell rack & bells up to 100lb...about $5g.

Due to a recent injury (pec tear), almost every thing that requires a spotter (except squats) I do on the Smith machine. Squats...I just raise the bar catches high. (although my 6 y/o son would love to spot me!!!)

I train alone, most movements that need a spot I do in the power rack or on the smith machine.
