yea, thats a great one. Its amazing when you think about the distances and sizes involved in these pictures. That nubulea is light years accross and millions of light years away, amazing.

speed of light= 186,000 miles per second squared (not sure what the squared means though)

Johan: does the squared have to do with propigation?

    just a missunderstanding
The speed of light is 300 000km/second(or 186000miles/second as you wrote). Its not suposed to be squared though.

If something is miles/second^2 its a acceleration.

Do you mean as in exponential growth?

Not sure how you se anything exponential
Acceleration is given in (si units) as meters/second squared.
The time part must always be squared in a acceleration so that all the units are right and speed must never be squared. A direct consequense of how acceleration is defined.

Is:miles/second^2, the 2 not an exponent? Maybe the term growth is misleading. A term I use often times.

Nonetheless I see what you are saying.

I dont for one second belive we are alone in the universe.
When you get a feeling for the absolutely insane scale of the universe it seems ridicilous to assume that this mediocer planet in a mediocer galaxy is the only place where life could form.

I am undecided about UFO's though. I am leaning towards that there has to be something going on. But not sure.
