    Just interviewed for Gold's gym.

It's Gold's in Deer Park, NY! It's one of the best gyms on LI. Full of juicers so if it works out I'm sure I'll makes some connections for a bit of the "domestic protein" for myself. Although I kind of needed a hair cut, he manager says I interview well. Wish me luck!

The one here in NY (Deer Park) has the hard core element there. I'd love the energy of that type of environment and of course the connections for hooking up with some product. Thanks.

I know what you mean. I work out at Bally's in Lake Grove Long Island. It's definately a place you can hook up in but God forbid you should grunt under 400+ pounds on the squat. You become a spectacle.

It was different in the eighties (I'm 37). When you went to a gym then most of the people there were hardcore bodybuilders and the antics that went on were legendary and some of the people, true characters. It was truly a boy's club. Even the woman who were pretty hardcore too were just one of the boys. The guys - juiced out of their gizzards walked around like dinosaurs - sometimes goofy dinosaurs. As an sixteen year old, these people really captured my imagination. I'll never forget those days.

In a way, that's what it was like training at South Shore Gym in Oakdale in the eighties. There were guys like Scott Cohen who competed in the nationals. There was this little Turkish guy about 5' named Tevick. The guy was a freak. I saw Tom Twerlinger (spelling?) down there a few times. Alot of power lifters too. I saw this one guy doing standing overhead presses with 400+ pounds. Amazing. Before a lift, the powerlifters would "psych up" slapping each other in the face, tearing up as they sniff amonia from a little bottle. It was vintage mecca stuff! Sacrifice and bliss!

I go to the one in Bellmore, they used to own the one in farmingdale. They are trying to get away from the bodybuilding element and its ruining the ****ing place. They just kicked joe valentino out of the gym for grunting too much.

I'm not bragging out hookups. I'm just saying that it's a place were people can easily hook up. That's the vibe of the place and it seems unique to that place (atleast in comparison to Bayshore Bally's). Bayshore Bally's has alot of Hispanic people and maybe there's a cultural gap between them and the caucasions. I don't know. T

Anyway, that's good info though. I should check out Farmingdale Gold's. It's good to know that there are a few hard core places around. I hear Bev's Gold's is hardcore as well. I would love to meet Bev Francis.

Its in syosset it used to be Bev Francis Golds Gym, but now its Powerhouse...It is a lot more hardcore than DP Golds, as far as the equipment...but DP does have better, newer facilities, but Bev's still has some real nice old school machines that like no other gym has. The real reason i was saying it was the best is because Bev is married to Steve Weinberg(sp?), who is one of the main judges for ALL the big events, so most of the serious bb'ers train there so they can consult w/ posing and physique with him if ya know what i mean.

I found a lot of people use other gyms, and then go to Bev's for leg day because they have some of the best leg machines, and i think thats where most of the Jets train in their off season. Hey, i've seen Dorian Yates there a couple of times, supposedly its his spot when he's in the area....Ronnie coleman, jay cutler also....but there are some real monsters at DP golds, and many more ladies!

Go get a guest pass one day and check it out...i didnt see 1 small guy there the few times i did train there! SICK>
