I think you need to use DVD Shrink if you wanna put DVD's directly onto the PC

if it's non encoded or an older movie you are trying to make a backup of it dvd shrink will work...since dvdshrink went out of business a bit ago...there encoding is a little older so it doens't work by itself with all modern encoding. If ya need help with that part read up on doom9.org... or if you're lazy like me...PM me and i'll be more detailed about it

sorry man ... i forgot about this thread...
1st off...are you backing it off as an ISO or files... i suggest iso
then use a good burning program like nero to burn it to dvd...I assume you have a dvd burner right? If you just want to watch it on your puter you can use a program like Virtual Daemon manager to simulate the iso (image file) as a virtual drive.

i promise you www.doom9.org has TONS of manuals and how to's to walk you through whatever. After a good 10 or so...they all become like clock work. I have over 400 backup copies of original's i own of course.

DVD shrink and DVD secrypter is all you need, maybe nero too.
Use azureus for a torrent downloader and torrentspy or piratebay.org to search for torrents, to download nero and the DVD programs are free.

you can download a free trial from www.nero.com i think. I'm sure you could find a crack somewhere if you wanted to.

You have to go to Canadian web sites. They have software you can
decript and burn on another DVD. Save your hard drive.

yep like i said...dvd shrink isn't going to be able to do ripguard and ARccOS encoding.
First run it through DVD decrypter to your hd.
Then use VOBBlanker to rewrite those files to another location on your hd.
Then use dvd shrink to reduce or strip out what you don't want from that 2nd location on your hd.
Then burn :P
Gonna run into that problem with alot of new sony and new disney flicks...and for some reason capote :P

dvd decrypter has the option to decrypt it into individual files instead of iso... it's one of the drop down options ... just keep changing it until it shows a picture of a cd pointing to the lil hd pic. If it can wait i'll tell you the specifics when i get in front of my home machine , but i'm sure you can figure that part out.

Im trying to burn it onto my HD with DVD fab, add it to a virtual drive with daemon tools, then shrink it with dvdshrink, then burn it with..........I dont know yet.
-
04-13-2006, 07:12 PM #39
dvd fab? Use dvd decoder... go to the mode menu and check file...pick a destination folder and then proceed like normal.
then open up voblanker and use that path as the input path and have it output to another folder. Make sure everything is checked except "use input files" , "Fix always VOB int pointers", and "change post into precomm (always)". Hit process.
Then open up dvd shrink and use the button "open files" instead of the normal "open disc" and i think you know the rest ...
obviously when dvdshrink makes the file into an iso you can burn it with nero or fireburner ...

well I didnt do tht but this worked:
1.burnt to HD with decrypter
2.Created a virtual drive with daemon tools
3.opened that virtual drive (with the ISO in it) in shrink and shrunk the unwanted crap.
4.burnt with decrypter.
