"Last year, the Harm Reduction Centre at St Catherine's Hospital in Birkenhead registered 332 new intravenous steroid abusers."

Whoever wrote this needs a brick upside their head. All they did was repeat themselves over and over again.

Why don't they, instead of taking on another battle, finish the first fuhking one they started on heroin! Nothing like spreading yourself too thin and saying stupid sh*t.
So those folks are all on heroin... so is whoever wrote this....

I can see their concern though, so good for them for looking out for the kids. I say stop heroin because it's more dangerous..

"They wrongly think they're immune from problems like that because they don't see steroids as a drug like heroin, when in fact they are just as risky.

What is the heroin to steroid death ratio at this point in time? Anyone know?

P.S. Don't forget to wipe the needle off on your sock before passing it. Because thats just as rude as slobbering on a cigar and giving it to someone.

Exactly. I cant stand these articles, they obviously had no good stories so decided to put another BS article on the front page. The public loves it too because they are so uneducated about steroids and so gullible its unbelievable.
"The majority of them are young lads wanting to look good on the beach in Ibiza but in the long term they're taking a terrible risk with their health."
Yay, congrats you say that about 25x in the article but dont mention any of these TERRIBLE risks. MAY get acne, MAY develop breast tissue...blah blah. It will never stop.

THE NUMBER of anabolic steroid abusers on Wirral has rocketed by over 300 in the last year alone many of them teenage boys hoping to bulk up their bodies, the Globe can reveal.

    >> Wow 300 what a crazy number is that 300% or just 300.. Man those dam rockets.

They now outnumber heroin addicts locally by four to one and staff at Birkenhead's needle syringe exchange fear the problem will only get worse.

    >> All this means is all the heroin junkies left town.

The medics say many of the steroids being injected by Wirral teenagers were developed for animals and not humans, and can cause lasting damage.

    >> What?? Teen-aged boys ARE animals.. come on!

They say the steroids largely illegal are widely available over the internet and within the keep-fit community.

    >> What I thought all .com's were frauds.. damit I want in on this.

That easy availability has meant that in the last three years there has been a 69% increase in the number of people injecting steroids in Wirral.

    >> 69%? I thought it was 300?? umm maybe they only have 175 people in their town?

Last year, the Harm Reduction Centre at St Catherine's Hospital in Birkenhead registered 332 new intravenous steroid abusers.

    >> wait wait.. I thought they said 300? Gosh this is getting to be a problem in this little town, nuke those bastards.

Many of those fall into the 17 to 22-year-old age bracket and the majority of that group are teenagers.

    >> hahaha.. ummmm yes 17, 18 and 19 year olds ARE teens doi!

An increase is expected now as many young men start to plan summer holidays and want to create the right look' for the beach.

    >> why else, oh maybe because they don't want to be the fat slobs their parents are? oh and to get laid too.

Deborah Jones, clinical nursing specialist at the centre, warned: "The majority of them are young lads wanting to look good on the beach in Ibiza but in the long term they're taking a terrible risk with their health.

    >> Oh yes the wee young lads.. WTF? Are we in Scottland now? Oh the bad health in the future.. yup yup.. they should just eat hamburgers and get fat and die of heart problems.

"They're obviously trying to get a toned six-pack' look but what they won't be expecting is an outbreak of acne, appalling mood swings and even the possibility of breast tissue forming on their chests.

    >> ummmm Since when does Test give you a 6-pack? Oh and when does a Tenn NOT have acne? mood swings? come on they are teens.. Now breast tissue is okay for the teen girls right??

"Because they're taking their drugs intravenously, they also run the risk of blood born viruses like hepatitis B and AIDS.

    >> oh come on, we don't share needles.. doi!!

"They’re obviously trying to get a toned ‘six-pack’ look but what they won’t be expecting is an outbreak of acne, appalling mood swings and the possibility of breast tissue forming on their chests."
    Deborah Jones, nursing specialist

    >> Sounds like this lady is fixated on the 6-pack... do you think she got hot and bothered while the interview was happening?

"They wrongly think they're immune from problems like that because they don't see steroids as a drug like heroin, when in fact they are just as risky.

    >> Yeah they are just as risky, dam those strong muscles, dam dam dam.

"Some of these drugs are designed for animals, not humans. Anyone taking them without really knowing what they're doing is crazy."

    >> again teens ARE animals..

She said the problem was definitely seasonal with numbers soaring as summer approaches.

    >> Little does she know.. winter is for bulking fool!

"It's quite clearly about body image - these young men want to look good in the summer.

    >> again I bet she is moist by now talking about all those hot and sweaty young men with the hard 6-pack abs glistening in the sun.

"But the fact is there is no better way to look good than to have proper exercise and a good diet. Much like new fad diets, anabolic steroids are a short-term fix that over time can lead to major health problems."

    >> Yeah she is right because all you have to do is inject, eat a burger and watch TV and you look like Ronnie Coleman.

At the centre, emphasis is on helping people who do abuse drugs do it in the safest way possible. But Deborah added: "We're here to help people, but we don't pull any punches, either.

    >> Well I bet if you learned the true facts you would be more helpful and yes even though a 17 year old should not be doing these drugs just pointing fingers and saying its bad over and over does not help the problem.

"We explain to these young men that persistent use of steroids might lead to them growing breast tissue, for instance.

    >> man boobies.... hahaha STFU.. ummm anti-e baby!!

"For a young man wanting to look great, I'd have thought that was enough of a possible outcome to never take them again."

    >> WRONG!!!!

The most commonly used steroids are Deca-Durabolin, Sustanon, Winstrol, growth hormones and even insulin. Misuse can lead to abscesses, damaged muscles and even paralysis.

    >> Paralysis?? yeah after a SC leg day maybe. GO Deca!!

Deborah added: "They have to know that they very definitely are not doing themselves any good at all."

    >> Oh they know the risks much better than you, or at least if they come to AR. Maybe you should come and read some Debbie and learn the fact before shooting off your stinking mouth.. You are a robot throwing up the same garbage all the others are saying.

    Okay that is all..

It would be good if just for once some tv show would do a trial of steroids on an experienced user and show the positve effects it can have when run properly instead of all the crap you hear lately.

Nobody would watch that. A healthy well informed male can't take a moderate dose of test to improve his physique, but he can spend 10's of thousands of dollars on all the plastic surgery he wants which is way more dangerous and nobody cares. Bullshit!

Intravenous steroids? You think these dipshits would do SOME research before writing this drivel. Heres to the author
