Who is enjoying Mushroom hunting season?

Even though I sort of have a white collar job at my work place i'm still on the floor with these guys 24/7. Everywhere I go someone is talking about "Mushroom hunting" and how much money they made over the weekend selling them and also how delicious they are! Here's what someone said.

"I went mushroom hunting and got me $600 from selling em. I dont know why I came to work today." This was Monday.

So anyways I tell one of the guys to bring me a bag of them and I bought them for $20 so I could see what the big fukin deal was about them. I bring them home and deep fry'd em tonight. I think I didn't fry them hot enough so I didn't get them crisp enough. Talkin about a fukin heart attack on a plate! Overall I wasn't too impressed with their taste and almost threw up. And how the hell can these guys eat these things everyday.

These things are everywhere in my backyard. I'm thinking about going out and picking some this weekend and trying it again.

its big around my area too...guys have their 'secret spots' that they wont tell anyone about and will pick away all day. i personally love mushrooms, but wouldnt touch anything that someone picked out of the woods - uh uh, no way

i dont think wild mushrooms taste all that good anyways

this is the first time i have heard of this epidemic of mushroom hunting, you just pick them in the wooods and sell them on the side of the road? what location are you at to find these i live in the northwest and see all types of shrooms

So, are you guys referring to psychotropic mushrooms? In that case, this is rec drug talk and not appropriate for our community to talk about. Not to mention in high school Ive come in plenty of contact with jackass's who decided to eat these things and act like complete **** ups. Mostly the losers and junkies who shroom all the time. I would never sell anything like that, you might as well start selling crack too while your at it.

Lol ummm, then why wouldn't you just goto the super market like every other person? I dont see the advantage to 'black market' mushrooms. I always thought the ones that grew in your yard were poisinous. However, if they're talking about the ones you trip off of, I believe those grow on cow shit, but most farmers I hear spray salt over the cow shit so the shrooms dont grow. I cant see anyone being able to resell REGULAR mushrooms for a high profit. So they almost surely have to be talking about illegal mushrooms.

Somebody's gotta pick them dude whether you get them from the grocery store or from a co-worker.

As long as you deep fry them you're killing most of the bacteria anyways, but you gotta be careful about the poisonous ones.

I'm talking about real mushrooms, "Morels" to be exact.

Check outside your house. I'm sure you'll see quite a few if you live in the right area. I'm in the Midwest. It's pretty big around here I just found out.

that is the most random hobby i have ever encountered. if it were the magic mushrooms then i could understand it alittle more, but normal, generic mushrooms? whatever floats your boat i guess lol
