In the military what do you do?
Those members who are, or were elisted in the army(navy and airforce too), what jobs did you do? Anyone take education though them? Anybody passionate about a perticular job they do in the military?

Every profession has its share of gays. The only reason why its paid more attention to in the military is because its forbidden and when people get caught it attracts more attention from every angle. I bet if you broke down the ratio of gay men to straight men, in most professions its probably fairly equal.

Its funny you say that, because 2 out of the three postings i have been to, the younger population has your same attitude, But it only seems to be the younger crowd... I dont think its that we think we are better or we can do whatever we want, I Personally believe, the younger generation feel's threatened by us..because when we go out, we tend to go out in large groups, and we get noticed whether we are in uniform or not, anything bad we do, no matter how small it is,it tends to get thrown back in ALL of our faces, If joe Civvy is getting a little rowdy down around town or at the clubs, no big deal these things happen, But if ONE soldier get a little out of hand, It turns into the entire, Unit, Battalion.. etc are the bad ones, why... Probably because we are easy to point out..
Just remember, just because a few Military guys in your area are jack asses, its doesnt make them all jack asses, so its not fair to judge all of us!!

get up in the morning, get dressed in PT gear, do PT for like 1-2 hours, shower, dress in combats, inspection... hang out and watch TV, take 2 hours for lunch, come back, watch TV, off work.
in the field, you pretty much don't ever stop working always fairly active - its sort've like, 90% of your time, your pretty relaxed, 10% you work harder than any other job in the world....
unless your a reservist like me, i specifically go out of my way to do as little possable
just a tip -
1 - always volunteer for everything, seriously, leaders need to get stuff done and when it comes time for courses, your name will get picked
2 - have a sense of humour - way to many people in the military take there jobs way to seriously
3 - legitametly care about your buddies, even outside of work try to socialize them if there having problems fitting in
4 - don't fall into the "lets go fvck fat chicks" trap, always hold yourself to a strong social standard, don't fall into the loser trap
anyways, i hope this helpsLast edited by GQ-Bouncer; 05-17-2006 at 06:17 AM.
