I have never heard of WU giving a check that is crazy.. how big was the payment? He might want to go to a larger outlet next time. I know that WU has satellite offices that do not have the whole system and they do not keep the larger amount on hand but others will pay out up to $5k (I went to one the other day that said cash up to $5k WU).

I guess that makes sence that if they didn't have then money on hand, that they would give him a check. But they offered to cash it for him if he signed it. Sounds pretty weird. I wouldn't have signed it at WU. Sounds too fishy to me.

Yeah I missed that part.. that is weird.. I think WU is getting tighter about how they send money.. I use them all the time for business so I have hundreds of transactions and have yet to have any major issues. I would say go to a different location next time and break up the amounts smaller if possible.

if you send more trhan 1000 they require i.d but i have never needed i.d to pick any amount up even up to 2600...sorry man, sounds a little screwy to me...S
