Brings new meaning to the expression "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse."

I would eat horse in a minute. The only reason horses are not an acceptable product is they are like dogs, people see them as friends and workers not food. Horse meat taste better and is better for you than any other red meat. Second to Bison in my book.

NO, I do sometimes but I try not to. They're usually dirty animals, kind of like a lot of shellfish is dirty......shrimp, clams, oysters, even catfish are all bottom feeders.....all they do is eat the garbage of the bottom

If u live in a multi-cultural area, you can find horse meat in most on ethnic stores. I have a Brazilian brother-in-law and they eat it all the time. I acually have seen it in a store that he goes to.

I hear that. Back in the day this stuff was considered poor man's food cuz you can snatch it up right off the shore, not boat or bait required. Now it's expensive!

Wouldn't it be nice if we could save the cash, and just eat the garbage ourselves?

That's not entirely fair... horse is considered a delicasy (sp) in other countries. Just because it's not part of the US culture doesn't mean it'a a barbaric practice.

Caution eating horses, as they might have used some drug in them (like worming meds, fly sprays, etc). Any horse owner knows the precautions on the bottles (ie, toxic - not to be used on horses for human consumption....) and who knows how healthy the horse was when it died (or did it die of an illness?) I dont think there are standards/inspection of horse meat for human consumption like there is for beef, etc., at least in the US.

Besides, horses are domestic companions, it would be like eating your dog/cat....(I know, some of you are going to say, in some countries, they eat dogs and cats...)
