    Justified shooting by cops?

    http://www.filecabi.net/video/gunsfhwot.html

Dunno!. Seem's like the guy was running away, although he got out with a gun in his hands this was clearly dropped. Got shot first in the leg, posed no further danger and was finished off on the ground!.

After the leg shot I counted four more shots.

hard one but if he's carrying a gun in his hand i think they should use deadly force.

It's looks heavy handed! When cops shoot people all of them unload everything into target. If we did that in self defense we would not stand
    a chance in court.

No..i think it was justified. The person already showed that he had no respect for other people's safety by swirving everywhere and that he was desperate enough to do anything. Then he had the gun in his hand so i think it was justified to end it before anyone got hurt. As far as continueing to shoot... we cna't really tell if it was justified because we can't see if he kept the gun in his hand. Cops are supposed to stop the assailants with there weapons, not kill them. HOWEVER, if the gun is still in his hand, and the situation has already been elevated to shooting, It would make since to continue. I personally think the cops could have backed off after the first shot and gave him some orders, but...if any of you know officers, they'll be the first to tell you that despite the training they are effected just like the rest of us in these situations.

    - common answer involving shootings...when the shooter is asked how many shots he fired, they will usually say once or twice when in actuality they emptied there clip. In hightened situations like that, unfortunately, higher brain funtion is not always in control.

sorry for the winded response...did some tactical training.

it looks like he was going into his pocket when he fell plus from the angle the cops where at, you can't see the gun fly out of his hand and under the other car since there point of view was blocked by his car.

He knew the cops would be armed. Why run? His fault. Justifiable.

i say it was justified. that prick could have hurt or even killed anybody, as it wasnt really a secluded area right? cops did the right thing by wasting him. saves room in the prisons for dangerous criminals who arent dead

F the little prick...If only 5 shots were fired in total I'd say the cops showed restraint.

LAPD -V- White guy justified although he's shot in the back running away.

LAPD -V- Rodney King. LAPD guilty of beating an african American who just seriously assualted two LAPD officers.

    'Tis a strange world indeed!.

Yes I feel it was justified, it looked to me that after he was shot the first time he turned to the police and was reaching for something, he had already showed a clear intent to cause harm or atleast be capable of it - so it was a technically sound (from the legal 'use of force' perspective) shooting, even from that Live TV Angle, as we didnt get to see a first-person-perspective from what the police had seen.

My Dad is a retired policeman, so of course i am biased, but I still believe that biased or not it was justified.

    Thanks for the vid Bouncer!

I was thinking of roughly the same thing. I wonder if Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, or the New Black Panther Party will be screeching for an investigation?
