Aging and Puffy face..........What the f~*&?

I noticed on the face of many men over 50...a puffy faced look with baggy eyes....What is the cause of this? I realize as men age, our skin looses its elasticity but this does not explain the extra water look.

For example, if you look at the faces of some movie stars you'll see it clearly (Denzel Washington, Steven Segal, Mel Gibson, etc). Many of them are in fairly decent shape....but look like they are carrying about 5lbs of water in their mugs...

    What gives?

Fat gain I'd guess and failure of attention to diet.

Wrong forum indeed, I'll move this to the Lounge.

    Please use the correct forums!

im guessing as men age, due to test levels dropping, the signs of estrogen in the body become more apparent, such as water retention, fat gain, and puffy nipples

Good point Timm....estrogen levels increase while test levels decrease as we age....At this point it would take some serious dieting and "many" men at that age have lost the drive to do that.
