Walk up to a dark skin Puerto Rican or Dominican and call them Black or African American they will be offended. They're Puerto Rican and Dominican. Not Black. White people tend to do this. Anyone who is dark skin they automatically classify as Black.
The whole Black/White thing is something Americans are stuck on. I have a friend who moved here from Germany. His father is Black and mother White. He told me never in the 25 years of life was he ever called Black or mixed until moving to the US. In Germany he was German. Not white German or black German or mixed German. Just German.
I am mixed and since I'm dark skin everyone in the US calls me Black. When I'm in Spain people ask me if I'm a Spaniard. I tell them, no, I'm from New York. They say oh, so you're American. They don't make the distinction of Black American or White American. It's one of the things I don't like about living in America. Everyone is too stuck on color.
In the US if I go up and talk to a blonde haired blue eyed white guy I get "I'm not into Blacks." In Spain I talk to someone blonde haired blue eyed I get "Here's my number call me tomorrow."

There is a commercial with 2 black females talking about the new MCD's premium chicken salad. Now they sound incredibly ignorant, use slang, and basically have that "girlfriend" type attitude you see from a talk show audiences. Why do they do that? Do they feel there arent any educated black people in america? Do you think ignorance begates more ignorance? By that i mean do blacks see that and say "yea thats us" and feel thats the way they are supposed to be? thoughts on this?
Any product that is marketed as ghetto I don't buy. I am not ghetto and it does not appeal to me. I watch the commercial and think, "what a bunch of idiots", and turn the channel. I'm sure we've all seen people dancing around for kool aid.
