Beat it Geraldo.
Zidane!!! What madness!!! After that cheeky penalty right at the beginning, he must be feeling like the loneliest man in the world. I hope the French media dont make him the scape goat for France going out. Man of the tournamnet for me.
As soon as it went to penalties, and without Viera, Ribberi, Zidane, Henry it was always gonna be Italies night and France WERE the better team.
Still, what an absolutely brilliant headbutt! I guess if you're gonna get a red card you gotta get one in style.
Hrm, makes you wonder why Figo never got sent off in that Hollland match but that's neither here nor there now.

hate the dives, way to many cards, but i still loved watching the WC this year
that was the nicest headbutt ive ever seen and probably ever will see in my entire life. as long as that guy is not seriously injured, i would be proud to go out like that.Last edited by zodiac666; 07-09-2006 at 07:22 PM.

Zidane Sucks. I'm glad he got suspended, he's the worst player of the whole 36 Teams thaT played at the World cup. I'm glad he's not playing on the next World cup otherwise I would of have to kick his ass in Africa...

Zidane sucks?
I'm assuming that's sarcasm Major? If you're serious you're the worst judge of a football player ever.
And, Zidane was awarded the Golden Ball for best player of the World Cup and rightly deserved.

Zinedine Zidane

Zinedine Zidane has been awarded the Golden Ball as the best player at the World Cup despite his sending-off in the final on Sunday night.
The France legend, playing in his final match before retirement, was dismissed in extra time for headbutting Italy's Marco Materazzi.
The voting for the award was carried at half-time in the final, which France went on to lose on penalties.
Zidane, 34, topped a of poll journalists covering the event ahead with 2,012 points ahead of Italian pair Fabio Cannavaro (1,977) and Andrea Pirlo (715).
Zidane was disappointing in France's opening games and was suspended for their crucial final group match against Togo.
He returned to give match-winning performances against Spain, Brazil and Portugal and had hoped for a glorious career finale in Berlin.
That was on course to happen as he netted the penalty that gave France the lead but Italy responded to take the match to extra time.
Zidane had a great chance to win the game when he forced a fine save from Gianluigi Buffon with a header but the last memory of him on a field was him charging at Materazzi and headbutting him in his chest over a comment made by the defender.
Despite his indiscretion, he will be regarded as one of the game's greatest players having inspired France to success at the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000.

he is a great player. too bad he'll be remembered as a coward and leaving the field in disgrace. only fitting for a frenchman.

alright you got me. yes he was awarded the Golden Ball for best player of the WC but withou class, respect and self-discipline he will go down in the soccer history book as the less valuable player.

Regardless of the attitude of the man, he was amazing at what he could do with the ball.
Not all geniuses HAVE to be role models you know?
