Does anyone have a Buell motorcylce?

Does anyone in here happen to have a Buell? I dont want a rice rocket, and i'm too much of an amatuer/poor to get a Harley. I figured a Buell would be a good starting bike for me and they are respectivily cheap too.
I'm looking at the Blast, for like, $2,500 used for a 2003 or so.

It's a pretty decent lookin bike imo

that little bike will have you wantin' something different and bigger very quickly. my first bike was a kawasaki vulcan classic 800. i would suggest something like this to start with.

One guy at works has a Honda that looks like it should be a Harley.. not sure on the price ranges,, but i'm sure its not as expensive as a Harley.

Ride the Rice man! It's what all the kool kids are doing, I swear it!!!!!!!!

Seriously, Buells are decent enough bikes, but IMO, you can get so much more for your money by riding a Jap bike. Nothing against Harley/Buell, just that I won't pay 80% more for a name plate.

I dont want a rice rocket sports bike because frankly, I think they are gay. I'll soon be able to put enough power out of my car to keep up with ALOT of the bikes on the road, not all, but alot. So I just want one to cruise on and chill, not to do 160 mph.

Buell are realitively cheap, a used Blast (2003) like I am looking at is only $2,400....

the thing I dont like about them is
    A) it's too easy to kill yourself
    B) all the guys who have them think they are cooler than shit and faster than anything on the road, congratulations you bought a bike and its quick enough stock to kill yourself
    C) I like American cruiser's better

just like you woudln't go to a japanese maker for a good cruiser....you shouldn't go to an american maker for a good sport bike.

Doing wheelies...stoppies...cutting in and out of traffic...wearing shorts and tshirt on bikes...gunning it with a pasenger throwing your weight off... not even just the obvious stuff...

Not being aware of everything around you...expecting cars to see you...basically...by not riding actively looking for possible accidents. That is the biggest cause of accidents. And my opinion of these bikes is some what similiar to his in that...either the bike attracts those stupid riders... or...the bike makes riders act that stupid.

Wheelies and stoppies and burn outs dont kill. Yes they might get a little ****ed up but not killed. Most motorcycle death's involve a car of some kind.

I do have to say that there are allot more younger guys ridding sport bikes. With that said yes they are less mature and do dumb things with out thinking.

But the facts show cruisers and sport bike accidents are 50/50.

Here is the biggest problem, people are buying bikes that are way too big and powerful for their level of experience. Before they know it they cant hold a turn, pop a clutch too fast, etc etc. Just look at how many dumbasses are riding Hayabusa's these days, very few people have the skill level to ride a Hayabusa safely. I like the Buells myself, they seem pretty fair priced and I know a few people that have them and never heard anybody have any problems really

that is also true...i was talkin to the dealer yesterday and he said this big football player lookin dude came in and bought a hyabusa...first light he got to he gassed it to much and i wheelied up, he flew off and the bike finally fell down...thing was ****ed...dealer saw and helped him...next week the guy came in and the other side of the bike was facked also....very few people on the road know how to use a hyabusa to its potential....and this is a very few people...

exactly, I dont need a bike that can do a 1/4 mile in 9 seconds, nor do i want one for that.

I was just thinking about my dads first bike back in the day that our friend has, its 1988 peice of shit Yamaha Midnight Maxim, which would be a really good place for me to start.

Buels are good bikes. I've riden the Buel blast, and found it to be very similar to the Suzuki GS500. Nice starter bike imo.

The Suzuki GS 500 is a great bike, look into that aswell, and the Kawaski Vulcan 500.

dude how can you think a crotch rocket is gayer than a buell blast? it is a well-known fact that buell blasts are strictly for ho's.

meh i hear they're super easy to ride though at for 2500 or so why not i guess.
