i hate my life!!
its about 2 weeks after knee surgery and i am in the absolute worst shape. was expecting to go back to work today but it looks like thats being pushed back atleast another week. so far i saw in the first week more pain then whats normal. my doc cut me off of pain meds 4 days after surgery. for some reason they dont like them. i have had a 102.4 fever for over a week. it comes and goes. feeling nausious and big headache.. went to see him early because of it. takes off the original dressing sees bruises but says it looks great. tells me pretty much im being a baby, tho cant explain what the fever is from. gives me keflex, medicine for skin infection.. drains blood out of my knee and sends it to be tested. so then 2 days later it comes back as i have psuedogout. researched it but basically looks like its just inflamation of the joints, which help cause the extra pain. went to my regular physician the next day because of the fevers. she tells me that it is common and can be because of the annesthisa. could last up to 6-8 weeks. she finally gives me pain meds so i can actually fall asleep again. now docs nurse calls today and says doc would like to see me first thing in the morning to look at my leg. this is quite concerning since i wasnt supposed to go back to him for 3 weeks. im wondering if the rest of the blood work came back with something wrong.. god i hope not i cannot take anymore of this. its bad enough that its been 92 degrees out. i cant even put weight on this leg yet!!!!! sorry it was soo long. im having a fever and got alot of fustration i wanted to vent...

Damn Bro. Id possibly get a second opinion. If you have Blue Cross insurance, id see a specialist in this area. Don't want to screw around with an infection, as it can quickly spread.

I hope you get better soon. Dont worry man, it will get better. A about 6 months ago, I was frustrated and punched a wall so hard, a bone popped out of the back of my hand. After receiving X-Rays and pushing it back into my hand, the docor also told me to take some tylenol and wouldnt give me any pain medication! I could not beleive it! I went home and just let my hand heal on its own. It looks a little mangled, but thats life. What ever happened it will past and just keep forging ahead!

Stay strong brother!!!! I had ACL reconstruction end of January & feel great now & have been for a while..this pain is temporary & although EXTREMELY discouraging...dont let it get to you. The anestesia does last in the system for a while & does hinder the body. I did a complete body cleanse system about a month after surgery since I knew I would be home all weekend anyway...it helped quite a bit & I felt much better about a week later...Stay strong bro....& attack that Physical therapy like it was your enemy--it will be worth it & you will come back with more fire in your gut to get back to the gym & where you were before & even more. good luck bro

thanks alot for the kind words guys. so heres the update.. i went to this mysterious out of nowhere doctors visit that they wanted.. turns out that besides the psuedogout. i know have an infection which i need to research now called..staphylococcus epidermidis. just my luck, he told me that he has not seen anyone in his time get either of those issues from acl reconstructive surgery!!!. so the outcome is that i am going back into surgery tommarow. they are going to flush my knee with fluids, to get the crystals out and the infection that is there.. the problem im mad about is that the surgery is minor and only takes 20 minutes but i have to be there for up to 3 days with IV Antibiotics to make sure the infection is gone!!! 3 DAYS!!! goodbye AR ill see ya next week!!!

I broke my left leg in 5 places 3 years ago and had an external fixator drilled into my bones to stabilize the bones. I couldn't walk for 3 months and my muscle atrophied to nothing. Good news is that from the first day I started walking again I was so fvcking thankful, that I got into fitness with a whole new outlook. I saw each day that I could walk on my own two feet as a blessing and to this day I still take the stairs eveywhere because it reminds me how far I've come and the strength needed to come back from something so debilitating.
I guess what I'm trying to say is the injury will heal eventually and it'll motivate you to be better than you ever have before. Hang in there man, it'll pass eventually!

Good luck with the surgery bro. What happened the 1st go around to have it? I blew out my ACL & tore MCL up pretty bad 2 years ago. That 1st week and a half sucks, especially with the pain...my pain killers would only seem to last 20 minutes so I just stuck it out without them.
Good luck
