I'm not a fan of the magazines. They are all too product and sales orientated.

I'd rather research myself online for free.

i grew up reading FLEX, it's what got me into bodybuilding and taught me just about everything i know. i like the fact that they have a lot of scientific articles instead of opinions fake articles that are just promoting supplements like musclemag.

lately i just buy MD every once and a while, but yea way to many ads

Muscular Development and Ironman have the best up-to-date and useful info regarding training, nutrition and drugs from credible authors... the rest of the mainstream mags are all redundant and a waste of money IMO...

MD is the best hardcore mag. M&F is too mainstream. MD does have a lot of ads though

This type of thing always gets posted in threads regarding what pubs people recommend for reading and I think it is poor advice. Hopefully you don't really believe that... prolly just trying to kiss some ass or something...

Basically, you are missing a lot of great information. The Internet is a good place for candid discussions and getting advice from personal experience but professional, printed publications are necessary for well-rounded knowledge regarding the issues at hand. If you simply get all your infornation from the message baords - IMO, God help you... Internet gospel can sometimes be very misleading.

For those that just use the boards: Go buy a few books from some credible coaches, MD's or the athletes themselves... read them front to back with a highlighter in hand, come up with some of your own conclusions, apply them and take notes - and then you will be a more productive member on the Internet boards.
