Looking at the Audi S4...what do you think...
Okay, I know I did this same kinda thread a few months back about a bike, but...I'm selling my truck and buying a new car. Already went and test drove the new Audi s4. Gotta say, that is what's probable right now. Any suggestions? Looking for a high performance, yet practical (S4 is a 4 door) somewhat luxury car.

Bro Audi's are excellent cars. There is always the M5 but thats almost twice the price. Then there are the AMG versions of the Mercedes Sedans. You could even go with the Lexus IS 300. You got all kinds of options.

If you can go used by a couple of years on an Audi it might work out better. I think they are great cars but I heard their value drops more than other comparable cars (bmw, mercedes) so a 2000 model might get you to take advantage of depreciation someone else has already had to eat.

yeah, i was looking at the is 300 as well, but it doesn't really compare. I start to drewl thinking about a 4 door nice car, that I will have running 11's in the 1/4 mile....

Bronco, i have looved cars all my life man. In all seriosness, if you are thinking about getting that audi, all i have to ssay is BMW330i. its i think more or less the same price, but Bee,mers have better engines, sportier, and its a beamer for christ sake. If your worried about doing the 1/4 mile in 11 secs, i think you shit hit up the twin turbo supra. lol. give me a month with it and vin diesel won't have shit on you. lol. good luck man

drove a 2001 m3 today, and i wish I had 50,000 to throw around. Beautiful car, and it drives amazing. Test drove the m5 as well...no comparison. But that's another 20K. Bottom line, I need to start making some serious cash if I ever want either. Thanks for all the input guys, I'll let you know when I finally decide

Bronco, do you get snow where you live? Then Audi is the way to go. I have A6, 2.4 cc, 4/4 and it's very save car. It's very elegant and I believe it's a female car, but my BF laughs at me when I say it.
BMW and mercedes are awfull durring the winter. Oh, I just saw you are in Florida, so you do not need to worry for the winter.

Anything from Audi is timeless. The desighns look good decades after they are introduced and the quadra drive is a big winner with everyone. I also like BMW's we owned a 735i for years and it was bulletproof.
Peace,

I've been really looking into the 03 Acura CL Type S coupes....32K topped out and 260 HP with a 6 speed - thats some pretty good bang for the buck and it's a quality car! They also respond well to mods so you could easily have a 3-400 HP car for a fraction of the cost depending on how fast and how much you want to spend. Just my .02 but obviously Audi and BMW are great cars as well....it's all in what you like!

Acura makes a great car. I leased a 98 Integra for 3 years and drove it into the ground. Never had a problem with it during the whole time.
If you're looking to upgrade you might as well get the M3 cuz it's going to run you the same in the long run. M3 has around 330 hp I think and it's pretty light.
I'd go with a new Camaro myself.

You know you can always buy the E36 M3, the previous version. It's almost as potent as the E46 (newest) M3, but a little lighter and less hp...
Either that or like someone mentioned, the Mercedes Benz C36 AMG, C43 AMG or newest C32 AMG.
It all comes down to what you really want in a car. Audi could save you a marginal amount of cash over the BMW and MB counterparts...and they are really great cars. A chip, boost controller and you'll have more power for under $2k.

I'd go with a new Camaro myself.I can't believe GM! They wonder why Camaros and Firebirds don't sell but when was the last time you ever saw or heard a commercial for them? Even an ad in a magazine? I mean who the hell is in charge of the marketing for these cars? I really don't think the majority of the general public realize you can buy these cars for under 30K and have 335 HP....stock! By far the best bang for the buck but not after 2002

I test drove the new cobra (been test driving everything lately) and it is fast as hell...but that isn't what i want in a car. I'm looking for something that doesn't scream sportscar. I am trying to go for a mature look, and still have some serious get up and go. Keep the ideas coming though...
