His motive is to be as annoying as humanly possible it appears.
Maybe this pisses off Dennis which makes him even stronger.

He's fine to me. I WISH I had someone in the gym to push me like that. I train alone. I wonder how many more reps I could push with that guy yelling at me.

Yep..same here. I've actually had a partner similar to that and the difference is huge..

I hear that I love to have people yell at me when I spot sometimes it pumps me up sometimes pisses me off but im still getting a few more reps in. I'm kinda like that dude when I spot people I know not as much but ill yell or make them do another rep if it was a sh!tty one before hand

Good spotter IMO if you like intensity. He's not hearing him anyway probably, in that zone.

Yea that guy is a little extreme but a good training partner makes a huge difference between not having one over lets say a 6month timeframe.
