    PRIDE fighting

    Does anybody know if they test for steroids in these athletes? Also, what about UFC?

    I doubt it

    Altough Tim Slyvia had his belt taken away from him a couple years ago in ufc.

    You sir are completely wrong, they are tested in Pride just as they are in the UFC. The big difference is Japanese law vs American law.

    UFC = NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Commision)

    Pride = Themselves

    I was watching this biography on athletes who use steroids and they were saying something like 0.01% of gh or hgh shows when conducting a test on atheletes who use growth hormones.

    This means that the can take hgh and get away with it? so they were demanding better testings etc...

    Actually in Pride they are NOT tested for steroids . President Sakakibara has said numerous times that they do not test for steroids in pride on any level.

    I know Sakikibara side stepped drug testing questions but for years Bas has silenced such BS by stating that Pride does in fact test the fighters, now what they do with it from there is like i said before, up to them. They do not have a Athletic Commision to worry about unlike the UFC.

    Wanderlei also said just a week ago how they are tested and how it was a good thing etc...

    The key word here is Pride controls everything themselves, no outside body testing etc...

    I honestly would believe sakakibara over bas and wanderlei....but actually if you listen to vanderlei he never said the word "steroids ." He said they "test" but for what? Pride in fact does test for things like painkillers and opiates. Bas and vanderlei are speaking from a fighters perspective and they're more of protecting the legitimacy of what they do than anything else. Even bas was on steroids at a point in his career.
