    wisdom teeth...those lil peckers

i got 4 of them, that are poking out and soon to come through. as my dentist would put it, "they are ripe for the picking." so i'm getting all 4 of these bad boys cut out, anyone had this done (i'm sure you have). what was it like after the surgery....how sore was your mouth....and could you still eat lol.

My started coming in in all different directions and the dentist told me that i would eventually have to have them pulled. When i went back to have them checked out again the somehow had come in straight. I dont know how but they did so i didnt have to have them pulled. I know a lot of people who had to get them out and this one friend of mine got it done and it looked like he had baseballs in each side of his mouth. Everyone react different to it though.

Oh yes... lol. When my dentist fro my hometown x-rayed those suckers he said they were coming in straight... wouldn't need to pull 'em, I was so happy. Then, last summer I woke up one morning and it felt like someone had punched me in the jaw... as the day wore on it got progressively worse. The next morning I coudln't open my mouth hardly and had to go in right away. They gave me antibiotics for the infection (infection from them poking through the gums and buggin my other teeth) and I went back a week later to have all 4 out. It went smoothly... I liked being all drugged up. Didn't feel a thing, my Mom and I walked back to my apt... it was a beautiful summer day...we went for a walk in the parc and sat in the sun for a bit... no problems at all. I downed 1L of chocolate milk too. I was fine the next day also, able to eat soup and things that I didn't have to chew.

Got them out on a Friday, by MOnday I was good to go.. no problems at all. Didn't even need to use teh Tylenol 3's they gave me.

That all being said, everyone is different and has diffferent reactions. The drugs are also different, some peope get put out, some people just get massively drugged...

All the best! I'm sure it'll be fine. Just make sure someone goes with you and makes sure you get home ok... and of course dotes on you and pampers you after..haha.

everyone has a different aftermath with wisdom teeth. i got lucky and only had one, they didn't even put me out just gas and novacaine. i'm guessing with four they probably will. just plan on being really swollen and not being able to eat for awhile. hope you're not on aas bro, it'll kill your diet for a few days.

Mine were embedded so my doc had to cut my gums and then pull them out, it hurt like hell when the novicane wore off but the vicodin took care of the pain after that.

My wife just had one done 2 days ago, she was so ****ed up from the anestesia it wasnt funny. I had to slam on my brakes driving her home from the oral surgeon because some bitch pulled out in front of me. I was like, "****ing bitch!!" and my wife says "It was a ****ing kangaroo wasnt it? It was a kangaroo that jumped out in front of you!!" She was tripping bad, then she asked me if I had spoke with Tucan Sam,hahhaha. I was like "Yeah, we talked awhile" hahhahahah But seriously, dentists will tell you this because they want their money. I wouldnt get them pulled until they start bothering you, they may not.

You mean impacted and yeah you're right that shit sucks. I had mine taken out and it was ok until the novicane quit.

I had mine done....the actual surgery was a breeze. I was in "twilight" which basically means I didn't give a sh1t what they were doing to me. The next few days after that sucked big time. Mouth hurt like hell, but no real swelling. Also, the Vicodin they gave me made me nauseas and sick to my stomach, so the Dr. prescribed Percocet instead and I was fine. Just a note incase you get Vicodin--beware.

I have a feeling mine will need to be taken out one day. The two on the bottom anyway. It won't be without a fight though. I hate the dentist, I feel like a trapped animal as it is up in that chair. The though of my jaw being cut to remove the offending teeth doesn't bear thinking.

Yeah USfither it wasn't so bad while it was happening and once i left, but oh man once i got home and the novicane wore off i was in alot of pain, i hate taking medication but for that i had 2. I have 1 left that isn't really exposed that much so he said to hold off as long as it's not bothering me because if he has to take it out theres going to be more cutting than usual. I used to get sore throats alot and my doctor said that wisdom teeth can cause that and can also cause heart and other trouble if not removed.

i'm scared, i had 4 teeth pulled a while back, and i'll make up some story and tell them i have a low pain tolerance and to put me to sleep, or i'll wake up and turn green. i'm definitely bringing my girlfriend.....the whole "i'm going to take care of you thing", that'll be pretty sweet...i might even fake it a few days after, i love me some attention.

since i wore braces i had to get mine out to create more room. I was awake, but extremely high on mad anesthesia and a slight surgery involved. He numbed my gums and started drilling/cutting through them since my wisdom teeth never came out.

Everything was spinning i didn't care much what was going on even seeing his hands full of blood when he was switching gloves in the process. I felt allot of pressure and pain only when he would hit a nerve since one of the teeth cracked when he was pulling it out therefore each small piece by piece had to be removed individually thereby tapping a nerve in the process which induced unbearable pain.

I was on mad pain killers for two weeks / left and right side of the face was blue&purple and all puffy like a mofo / lost allot of weight and turned all my food into liquid by throwing shit in the blender since you can’t chew nottn due to everything is still fresh and gums are all cut up.
It took me a good month to get back to my eating habits and for everything to heal.

Oh yeah well this is how bad it got for me. They tell you not to eat 24 hours prior and you can't eat for like a day afterwards. However I was dumb enough to take the painkillers on an empty stomach because the pain was so bad. So needless to say I ended up getting sick throwing up the whole night with open wounds in my mouth and having severe pain at the same time. THAT SUCKED!!!

bro, like a champ i did four teeth at one time that is why it was so severe for me.
Most doctors will not allow that and will only do two wisdom teeth at one time, but i told him when he takes out the upper two teeth i will never come back to take out the lower ones therefore we did it all at ones primarily for my benefit.

I'm gettin mine taken out in 2 weeks time. All 4 are coming out. Top two are gonna be yanked out and the bottom two they will be cutting the gums open. Tylenol 3's dont do anything for me i hope they give me something a lil better. I'm just hoping that i can keep some of my weight while i'm recovering.

I had braces too so I had to have all 4 removed at the same time. I was put in anastecia and woke up with a mouth full of blood. My gf went to go pick me up and at the drivethru pharmacy i dropped something in the car. When I bent over to get it; blood started pooring like crazy. One night i felt something weard and went to go check in the bathroom. i had this blood vain popping out and i pulled on it and it kept going and going and the sink was full of blood. I thought i was going to pass out because there was so much blood, i almost woke up my parents to tell them to send me to the hospital. The first two days really sucked bro. I wish you look and last but not least i couldn't eat anything for about three weeks. each body reacts differently thought.
