Need creative help!!!

Hey bros,

I’ve been doing roofing and siding as a way to create additional income for the past 3 years. Well this year I’ve been able to pick up quite a few jobs and would like to turn it into my primary source of income.

I’ve ordered job site signs, listed a company number, ordered 1,000 business cards and am using the name “XYZ Roofing & Siding Co.” right now. Basically I could not think of a name…so came up with XYZ. I thought it was pretty crafty, but I’m about as creative as a heterosexual white male that does roofing and siding.

What are your opinions of the name? Any idea’s for better names? It seems most people use their last names for company names, but I have my fathers last name and have yet to meet the cock sucker so I really don’t want to honor his name even if it is mine. I don’t really like it anyway and have been debating changing it. Maybe to XYZ?

A few things you have to consider, where is this neighbourhood? what's the average income there? the majority? Could a name be offensive(sounds stupid but trust me some people WILL NOT hire you for that) what is the culture there, etc....

What kind of name are you looking for anyway? like any name? a last name? a name related to roofing? etc.... gimme this info and Im sure I could help you out

I would like to promote quality reliable service. I was hesitant to put in anything about a lower price than other contractors because I don’t want people to assume lower quality of work. I do often finish the job 1-2k cheaper than most contractors because I do my own work, have no employee’s, just myself. So insurance is cheap, I don’t share the income, I own all my own equipment out right so have almost no over head. I actually finished my last job and saved the woman (elderly without much income) over 3,000 and blew in 1200 sq ft of insulation for her for cost only. I still walked away with an amount I was happy with and would do the exact same job again for the exact same price given the situation.

I am thinking of promoting cost only jobs to local charities and churches as well.

The county has a population of about 40,000 people; I would like to promote myself though 3 counties. The median house hold income is about 50k. Primarily white folks live in the area. I would defiantly like to stay away from any name that could be offensive to anyone. I also would like to maintain a positive relationship with other contractors.

I just need to come up with a name that people will remember, XYZ seems to be working okay for now, but I’m always looking for ways to improve!

If you want to use a last name IMO you gotta remove the CO at the end.

If you do not want a last name but something like Generalworks then keep it.
