How Many of you young guys are cake eaters??
That's right.. cake eaters..
A young adult that was raised with a silver spoon in thier mouth, and expect thier parents (and get it) to pay for everything to give you a better life than what they had??
Now, not that its a bad thing for you to have won a little or large piece of the "Birth Lottery".. but just curious...

My parent have always helped me out when I needed them to but not on ridiculous things...

My parents couldn't afford to do more than take care of the household bills and love us kids.
I started working fulltime at the age of 13.. while going to school.
10 years later i'm still working... fulltime... Still going to school fulltime.. and am a competitive bodybuilder fulltime.
Has been a hard road... but one which has given me priceless experience.
I'm thankful God brought me tru it relatively unscathed.

My parents do what they can for me. But with 3 boys all full time in university its hard. They pay all of our tuitions so it adds up, and they pay my rent. I buy all of my own "things" though, I buy my clothes, books at school, food and obviously supplements/gear.
So i consider myself lucky as they pay for my major expenses but all of the little things are on me. Bills like cable, cellie, hydro etc.
Its a good deal.

I've known a lot of these individuals... I wasn't even remotely close.. grew up poor as hell... lived in apartments until I was 12 and we then rented our own house.. my only clothes were hand me downs..even through high school...super embarassing...nothing fit in grade school and I would get teased for that..then in high school some of the hand me downs were from kids that were still going to school there...my sister was 2 years older than me and I remember one day when this kid (his mom was friends with mine) told my sister I was wearing his shirt...lololololol..Jesus... when I think back about how tough it was I'm glad... cause some of the kids I know that were rich little pricks are just not well rounded adults today..

I grew up middle class.. bought my 1st house at age 19.. started working in the tobacco fields at age 13...
younger i lived in a trailor park, one of those stainless steel looking trailers.. funny as hell..
10 yrs USAF, married at age 21, 2 great kids by 23.. divorced and remarried..
2 degrees later in life, own my own business, about to sell it, and start another one..
what i have found is people that must earn thier way through life often make different decissions, and have different values...my kids were raised middle---upperclass... i bought them thier 1st cars <$1000.. and they paid for their own insurance, and cell phones.. bought thier own clothes..
1st is a radiologist
2nd is a senior loan closer for a title company..
life is good..The answer to your every question

I have been on my own since i was 16, worked at McDonalds (manager) and put myself through college and University working full time all the way through high school as well.
People will work as hard as they push themselves to work.
There was one point where i had 2 full time jobs and was going to school - nearly burnt mytself out - but even when yuo think you don't have any more energy - if you look hard enough you will find it.
AND no i am not at McShits anymore - i work for a big technology company , sponsorships and advertising.

For the record - in Canada a caker is something different
Translation: "Cake eater". A derogatory term used by blue collar Italo-Canadians used to describe commercialized middle-class WASPs. Italo-Canadians would view the typical daily diet of fellow WASP workers to be based on refined white flour and sugar.

There is a difference between being a cake eater and having your parents pay for some stuff, to me a cake eater is someone that takes advantage of their parents givings.
My grandparents are very wealthy so my mom grew up with a silver spoon, she went to college and now makes a decent paycheck.
My dad grew up a little less fortunate but still didnt go without, he busted his ass and joined the Marines. Between my mom and dad they balence eachother out when it comes to me. I pay for everything I want, except for school, and 1/2 my car insurance.

i had some help from my parents when i went to school, it was almost impossible for me to work with how much school i had. i hated taking handouts, but at the time i didnt have to many options, i did everything in my power to keep my expenses as low as possible. i lived in terrible places,i very rarely went out to the bar, i cut down everything i could so iwouldnt be a burden. i thank them for there help all the time and i appreciate what they did, because with out them , i wouldnt be anywhere today.

I have my own place, so if a guy lives at home .. WOOPI
