Measuring Body Symmetry
What is the correct way to measure body symmetry? What body parts should be the same? I'm told the calfs should be the same as arms and neck. What should the forearm size equal too? There is a relation between size of quads and of the chest? I can't remember how to do the measurements. Can someone explain?

I've heard the same about " calves = arms = neck ", but I think that might only apply to the conservative BBer ... I can't remember seeing 19" calves on a guy ... nor do I think there's a "rule" for other proportions ... take a look at this article for another opinion:

I guess I'm referring to more of a symmetrical fitness or body model look than body builder. My calfs neck and arms are the same currently 15.25 and getting bigger.

sounds like we're on about the same track ... my arms and neck were 15" last time I measured (over a month ago) but thankfully my calves are leading the race at 16" ... they're such a b*tch to grow I'm trying to keep them ahead 'cause I know some day the rest of me is going to catch up

What are you stats? I'm 5'7", 160-162, 28" waist. I'm trying to get too 170-175 by the end of the year.

damn! 28" waist?! oh well ...
I'm 5'11" 175lb 32" waist (I've also got a 42" chest and 23" quads) ... I'd also like to gain at least 10lbs by year's end - how do you plan to do it?

Food! Food! Food!, training hard (legs especially) and going through 1 and half boxes of protein shakes a week. The strange thing is I put on about 10-12 pounds since mid/end of May and I'm more vascular now than I was before. Strange right? Have you posted picts in the member picts forum?

yeah, I've realized I have to start eating more ... protein is so expensive though - I'm gonna try to do so with "regular" foods ... in fact, I think I'll crack open a can of tuna right now ...
10-12 lbs in a MONTH!? and you maintained your waistline? damn! sounds like you've been working hard enough that you probably lost a few fat-pounds in the process, increasing your vascularity
no, actually, I think it's just your genetics! j/k
I have posted pics, but they're not my best ones ... PM me your email address and I'll send you a couple that are better

I think the best way to measure is by looking in the mirror
