    Terrorism concerns onboard flights- question

my friend ordered a package from over seas right before there was that news about the planned terrorist bombings using gatorade and cameras. Should he be concerned about security on his package (e.g. scanning) - would they be analyzing more packages now with this or is security on packages relatively unchanged? Thanks guys

Ya never know man. Its really up to them if they want to check it. Im sure they have tons and tons of packages go through there and they probably dont check each and everyone one of them.

the current concerns are aimed at liquids carried on to planes by passengers-the plot involved chemicals and pastes carried on in water bottles and tooth paste tubes and then detonated with ipods or other electronic devices

Thanks- so you dont suppose this would affect international mail orders which are sent via plane?

Couldn't somebody bring whatever liquids or toothpaste or bomb making fluid on the plane simply by duct taping it to their torso then wear a baggy sweatshirt over it?

I wouldn't imagine that international mail packages can be individually scanned/checked - it would take forever, I would imagine that a package sent via TNT for example just gets loaded on a plane within a huge TNT container. I could be wrong but this is how I imagine them doing it.

I ordered a package and it came through JFK customs the same day of the terror threat. Yes, it was opened but it was still delivered and retaped with customs tape.
