heart moniter?
hey fellas,
due to my extremely hectic schedule...3:30 am is the only time i have for cardio. obviously my gym is closed at this time. so my question is how do i keep track of my heart rate? do they sell portable heart monitors? and if so...where would i buy this at?

I know Dick's (oooh, is that a source?) sells them, as I suppose would most other sporting goods stores. Online, too.
Polar is probably the biggest manufacturer - do a search.
Also, if you are just looking for a general target range you can probably rough it by comparing equipment with HRM so when you use your own equipment you can mimic what works (e.g., cycle 80 rpm at resistance 8 = 65-70% target HR/fat burn level, or whatever). This obviously works best if you have purchased for home use equipment comparable to what you have at the gym.

Polar and timex are the most popular brands. Sunto is good but far more expensive and dont buy a mio watch(they really suck). Try wal-marts website or other outdoor product websites.

I have a polaris one and love it. When I am on the treadmill/elliptical ect I just use the strap and it automatically feeds to the equipment.

I'm not trying to sell you one. But i do sell this stuff ofr a living. Polar by far is the best. Polars cheapest to most expensive is just as accurate. Just less features.
