Who said electic cars were dull?

Called the Eliica - short for Electric Lithium-Ion battery Car - this radical 800bhp eight-wheeler from Japan is proof that electric vehicles can be fast and fun to drive, too. Boasting a four-second 0-60mph sprint and seven-second 0-100mph time, the Eliica is faster than a Porsche 911 Turbo.

It has 8 100 ghp motors. One for each wheel.

Is this the future? Is electric vehicles more feasable now?
I think it's kinda ugly, but others seem to think it's dead sexy...

Theyve been around since the early 90's. GM killed them off because they would destroy the huge money they make off selling gasoline based vehicles.

I think that all-electric cars really are the next big thing. Check out this new electric car from Tesla Motors. And yes, that's where I got the name "Tesla" from...

They run $100,000 each. The first batch of 100 Tesla roadsters is already sold out. It may sound like a lot but when you consider it will outrun many Ferraris, the price is a real bargain.

Tesla motors is also working on a 4-door car that will be sold for much less.
