I just bought an xbox 360 and..........

i hooked everything up last night and it has no sound and its black and white. I checked over everything to make sure it was hooked up ok and it is but i cant figure this out. Anyone that knows something about this kind of stuff have any suggestions??

Try a different TV, then you'll know if it's the XBox or your telly.

Did you purchase the Core or Premium system? The reason that I ask is that the Premium system comes with HD component cables. If you're not quite there yet (meaning non-HD setup), you'll need to downgrade your AV cables to analog. You'll have to buy these separately at your local electronics store.

An HD Xbox only needs the HD component cables with an HD compatible TV, if I'm not mistaken.

November 17th. The shitty part. I can't use my employee discount to buy one until after Christmas shopping season. If I want one before then I have to pay full price.

600?... you could buy a pretty decent pc for that. I got the 360 a couple months ago, i let a friend buy the ps3 to see how it stacks up before i even look into buying it.

Question: Who here has succeeded in getting their 360 to talk to a Windows XP Pro SP 2 computer using Windows Media Connect? My Windows Media Connect installation always says, "Cannot locate the XBOX 360 console". My 360 has the wireless network adapter successfully configured as I am able to connect to XBOX Live. I just cannot get my PC to see my XBOX 360 and vice versa. I've disabled my Windows XP based firewall and have adjusted my wireless router based firewall ports according to Microsoft's specifications.

I'd like to stream my MP3's that are stored on my PC to my XBOX 360 if you're wondering.

For $500 and $600 you're also getting an HD Blue Ray DVD player. Considering stand alone players cost over $1,000, $600 is a steal!

i just used a cd with mp3's and loaded em that way, havent tried connecting the pc.

I preorder a ps3 today.... I had to get to EB at 8:30am and the store opens at 10am but I was the first one there, good thing too because eb only had three premium and only one core system.... so I think it's going to be hard to get one of these before xmas if you didn't preorder today...
