    Electronic Absorption Spectra of Diorganogermylenes

I was just doing a little light reading and came across the fascinating subject of the EAS of our friends the diorganogermylenes. At first, when I read about them I was like, "Get right out of town." I've obtained a slightly better hold of myself since then though and have calmed down considerably. This is indeed a topic worthy of discussion and I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts and emotions on the matter.
Also, I took WAY too many drugs last night and totally spent the night trying not to die. I ODed on hallucinogens big fucking time. It terrified me to the core of my very being. I'm an idiot. At one point I was so out of my head and my stomach was hurting so badly that I was seriously considering cutting the fucking thing out of my body. Anyways, it's a story for another time. Back to dioganogermylenes.

Bro i feel for ya. Ive OD'd on hallucinagins a few times to the point where all i wanted to do was die. The worst part is that after an OD like that, it stays with you for awhile and you gotta fight to get your mental health back to where it was. Good luck bro.....what did you take? acid od's are prolly some of the worst. shroomz arent as bad but up there. DMT will just ruin your whole fuckin perspective for awhile. oops...sorry i got sidetracked from the dioganogermylenes

Sorry to hear about the near death experience........Are the dioganogermylenes any relation to dingleberries?

Im glad to see you back and ok. on the EAS of DOG's: It is not surprising that the spectrum red shifts as you add substituents of higher electron donation. This would be expected in a typical n-p transition a la silylenes. however, I personally find the effect of solvent complexation poorly understood, as well as how the formation of the germylenes (photolysis or thermolysis) affects the spectra.
