Like i said im lucky mine is not severe - i get it behind my ears and between my fingers.
I make sure my showers arent super long when the weather gets cold. I dry my hands completely and use the cream and its fine

EXCEMA TREATMENT
What is Excema?
Excema is the most common inflammatory disease of the skin and affects many millions of adults and children world-wide. Excema is a general term for any type of dermatitis or inflammation and itching of the skin; characterized by red, dry scaly skin. Atopic Dermatitis (AD) is the most common and severe form of Excema, so the general term Excema is often specifically applied to Atopic Dermatitis.
Recommended Excema treatment may include:
* Cream or ointment which your doctor recommends on a regular basis, and as a soap substitute, to keep the skin supple and to prevent drying. These ointments and creams should help to replenish the skin's natural protective oils while also protecting the skin as they can contain an antiseptic.
* Antihistamines taken by mouth may be helpful in reducing the itch.
* Antibiotics - If the skin becomes infected.

I have had eczema and later diagnosed with psoriasis which is slightly more extreme than eczema! After many months, stretching to over a year, of different strenght steroid creams and vitamin D cream I went to a locum doctor who said that it could be cured!! He actually said cured!
He was from Jordan and said that all I needed was Dead Sea Mud and sunshine and that would cure me.
I found a site on the net and got a few packs of mud and a few kilos of Dead Sea Salt and used these for full body coverage. They worked really well. Later I went to the Dead Sea in Jordan for 3 nights to a spa and had the full body treatment.
It has now been over 2 years and I have had no problems with my skin.
I would recommend that to anyone with skin problems ...... if nothing else it is worth looking into on line!
