    Quick Motorcycle Question

Hey guys, if I don't have access to WD40, is it OKAY to lube the motorcycle chain with regular MOTOR OIL? It's a bit of a rush job, and I need to move it b4 it rains, and was wondering if this is okay.

    Thanks,
    T.

It won't kill it bro... but as gsx said, you need real chain lube...

WD40 is used as a DE-Greaser by the way!!! it lubes a bit as it's oily, but it's far from an ideal lubricant. Many chain oils contain wax to help adherance to the chain.

whet even you do dont use the wd40. The will kill your chaine. you will be better off with nothing over wd. If you can try and get some White Lithium Grease for the time being.

I never grease my chain. I just replace when it get worn. They last about a year that way.

Chain lube is quite different from wd-40. You should be fine with just some motor-oil. How far do you need to move the bike?

Why do you need to lub the chain to move the bike.

Also wd-40 can eat rubber and most chains have o-rings in them
