Think about a question the answer is absolutely opposite
I.E.
Have you ever taken steroids ?
(Have you ever contemplated having sex with your mother)
I mean I dont mean to make it sound bad..but u get the idea. This is only hwhat I've heard..havent taken one beforeLast edited by chest6; 10-25-2006 at 10:31 PM.

I heard thumbtacks in the shoes help, but I think something like xanax or some type of benzo that will help stablize you heart rate so the control and variable question arent too far apart.
Besides that Id make a list of questions that youd answer yes AND no too.
Memorize the questions.
When your asked a question you have to beat automatically replace the question in your mind with one of the above questions you memorized that will give an honest result.
ie:
Your asked "have you ever taken or are you on steroids ?"
as quick as possible take the word "steroids" out of the question and replace it with heroin. Than answer the question as if that was the question you were asked. Combine this technique with a benzo or bloodpressure stablizer and if you practice you can pass it.

and more than anything the only thing that makes polygraphs affective is when people KNOW they are being tested.
pathological liars are really hard to fail.
because they BELIEVE thier own lies.

there is no way around for the average person u can beat the box it depends on who gives the test.

ok... so , i've actually passed one for work before..and i was definately lying. Here's the thing...it's shitty...but ya gotta do it...every chance you can, ly to everyone. DOne'st have to be a big one... just bout going to play basket ball vs baseball...sh*t like that...do that for a good month...and make sure whatever you are going to ly on the detector about, you ly about that w/ everyone else...after you get accustomed to hearing it out of your mouth...it really isn't the normal rush that a lie is.

You'll hear anywhere that polygraphs are 90% affective. But that one line alone is actually what makes it affective.
They condition people to believe "its hard to pass". So they condition them to get nervous when they take it and try to lie.
But if you were told they are 5% affective, youd be completely relaxed taking the test and Im sure youd wind up seeing that 95 out of every 100 people who lie on the test are able to beat it.
Its all based on conditioned responses. The machine cant read your mind. Realize that and youll be fine.

instead of reacting to the questions where you are bending the truth, react to the ones where you are telling the truth.
make yourself feel uncomfortable to those questions, think to yourself that you are lying when your not.
the results will then be inconclusive, and it will be hard to evaluate between the two.

i had a professor that used to give lie detector tests for the government. he said there only as good as the person giving them. if someone with experience is giving it they are 99 percent accurate because they know how to administer the questions.
